Messy Saints

NEW SERIES JESUS – CHAMPION OF FAITH One of the aspects of the Bible that makes it truly striking is how all the writers do not ‘airbrush’ any person mentioned in Scripture…including Jesus. We get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly side of people - real people, just like us. But what the writers do make clear is that there is only one hero, and that is Jesus. In fact, whoever wrote the book of Hebrews ascribes to Jesus the title, champion. Our so-called ‘heroes of the Bible’ were not heroes at all, they were real people like us. The only difference is they realized that at the end of the day, it is Christ working in and through them. This summer, we will look at the lives of some real people and the Champion whom they pursued. THIS WEEK: July 3, 2022 Messy Saints And so we begin our look at some notable ‘saints’, mentioned in the Bible and elsewhere. What makes a saint a saint? First, they all deal with ‘stuff’ in their life that they’d just rather not talk about. Second, there’s very little they have in common with each other. And third, at some point in their lives, they all became sold out for God.  Why?
