Meta suit underway in Oakland

A big trial gets underway in Oakland today. California, along with Colorado, Kentucky, and New Jersey, are suing Meta, accusing the tech giant of harming children with technology designed to be addictive. The states say the company, which owns Instagram and Facebook, violated federal child privacy laws and state consumer protection laws. They are seeking over one billion dollars in damages. Eric Goldman, professor and co-director of the High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara University School of Law, talks about it with L.A.'s Morning News.
