Methods of Acting

Have you ever noticed the difference between the acting in old films versus the acting in new films? I believe the difference is due to the rise of what is called "method acting." Beginning in the 1950's with actors such as Marlon Brando, acting changed to become more natural as opposed to the "stagey" style of yore.
