80 Prozent der Heizungsanlagen im Bestand laufen auf Werkseinstellung. Was kostet das? Dr. Franka Birke ist CEO und Mitgründerin von metr, dem Berliner PropTech für energieeffiziente Bestandsgebäude. Im Startup Spotlight mit Jan Thomas erklärt sie die 10,5-Mio.-Series-B, warum Heizungsoptimierung ohne Sanierung funktioniert und wie der neue Hub in Sachsen die Skalierung beschleunigt. Über den Gast Dr. Franka Birke studierte Internationales Management und Entrepreneurship an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und promovierte anschließend an der TU Berlin zu Technologiekompetenz und Erfolg junger Unternehmen. Als Entrepreneurship Lead Germany bei Climate-KIC baute sie ab 2011 den ersten Cleantech-Accelerator Deutschlands am EUREF-Campus auf und leitete 2016 kommissarisch das Centre for Entrepreneurship der TU Berlin. Seit Februar 2017 führt sie metr als Gründerin und CEO und verantwortet Strategie, Wachstum, Finanzierung und Personal. Unter ihrer Führung schloss das Unternehmen 2023 eine Series A über 6 Mio. € und im Juli 2026 eine Series B über 10,5 Mio. € ab. Birke ist PropTech-Vertreterin im ZIA, im Vorstand des Bitkom-Arbeitskreises Smart City und Jurorin des Wettbewerbs „Digitalpioniere der Wohnungswirtschaft".
