Mexico questions growing number of ICE custody deaths

On this episode of Border Report Live, the increasing number of Mexican immigrants dying in U.S. custody, hundreds of migrants rescued from a locked trailer, a growing number of unaccompanied migrants youth crossing the border, and the state of Texas says it’s done building and paying for border walls. El Paso correspondent Julian Resendiz and host Rudy Mireles discuss the anger Mexican officials are expressing over the deaths of 13 of its citizens while in U.S. immigration custody. Plus, in the Mexican state of Veracruz, officials found a trailer with 239 Central and South American migrants, including 17 unaccompanied children, locked inside. Mexican authorities have taken the first steps to repatriate the adults, while the children have been taken into protective custody. The trailer was found in Xalapa, Mexico, which is about 565 miles south of McAllen in South Texas, where more unaccompanied migrant children are crossing the border illegally. An analysis by South Texas correspondent Sandra Sanchez of U.S. Customs and Border Protection data finds that one-third of all unaccompanied migrant children encountered on the Southwest border crossed into the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector.
