Sedan fem år tillbaka rasar Miami Drug War mellan stadens poliskår och Medellínkartellen, som borrat sina giftiga klor djupt in i Miamis möra kött. Avenyerna och strandpromenaderna patrulleras inte bara av poliser, utan även av gängmedlemmar och knarklangare - cocaine cowboys i Ferrarri Testarossas - the players may look different, but the game is the same. And the cocaine is all devouring. This is where business shows its underside - and where there's always something to keep a policeman busy, corrupted or not. Staden är Miami, året är 1984. Vroooooom! I detta, det första, avsnittet får vi bekanta oss med rollpersonerna - Ronnie Rodriguez och Ray Jones. Både Ronnie och Ray är poliser i Miami, men de lever diametralt olika liv. Ronnie är en ung och het, dj:ande, uppkomling på den sexiga mordroteln, medan Ray är en deppig och bitter föredetting som förtvinar på polisstationen i Coconut Grove. Det finns väl ingen som helst chans att de två kommer att bli partners inom en snar framtid?
