Miami Beach Commish Kristin Rosen-Gonzalez & S. Miami Mayor Phillip Stoddard - Ep. 120 - 5/30/2016

Miami Beach Commissioner Kristin Rosen-Gonzalez presented FIU's scientific findings: the City of Miami Beach's new pump systems are polluting Biscayne Bay with human fecal matter. Now the rest of the City Commission and Mayor are demanding that the Miami Herald retract it's report on the findings and attempting to censure Mrs. Rosen-Gonzalez. According to her, residents had already recorded a black film entering the bay water, and the death of fish and sea grass in the area, but now that scientific findings are complete, something must be done. South Miami Mayor Phillip Stoddard is also a scientist and FIU professor, and he joined us to discuss the scientific findings and team and methods to test the Miami Beach water issues. According to Stoddard, this could become a Federal EPA enforcement matter.
