Bam Adebayo led the way with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Pele Larson dropped 20 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, helped seal the deal. Tyler Harrow added 18 points for Miami, Jamie Jacobs Jr. chipped in 14, and Kella Ware had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. On the Rocket side, Kevin Durant poured in 32 points with 8 assists and 6 boards, but it wasn't enough as Eamon Thompson scored 20, and Reed Shepard had 14.
The game started with both teams grabbing double-digit leads early. The Rockets jumped out to a 14-4 edge, but the Heat fired back with a 37-14 run for a 41-28 advantage. Things tightened up after that. Staying close until Larson's free throws late gave Miami some breathing room.
Injuries played a role too, with the Rockets missing Jabari Smith Jr. due to a sprained right ankle. He's expected to sit out their next game as, well, Miami sat Norman Powell, who's dealing with a right groin strain, and will miss at least a week while Harrow started in his place after working back from his own injury. Looking ahead, the Rockets hit to Washington on Monday, and the Heat host Brooklyn on Tuesday.
