Winds shift more easterly and strengthen to around 15 miles per hour. Down in Miami-Dade, today's looking very similar to Broward. Moderate Rip Current Risk, flat water at 1 foot or less, but high thunderstorm potential is the headliner. Mostly cloudy conditions with showers and thunderstorms likely. Light northeast winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour and mid 80s water temps. Thursday in Miami-Dade, we transition to a High Rip Current Risk, surf builds to 1 to 2 feet, and thunderstorm potential becomes moderate. Showers are likely with a chance of thunderstorms. East winds around 15 miles per hour. Finally, heading down to Collier County around Naples and Marco Island, today features a Low Rip Current Risk, which is the calmest of our areas. Surf is minimal at 1 foot or less, but high thunderstorm potential is still in the mix. It'll be mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Northeast winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour with mid 80s highs. Thursday in Collier remains Low risk for rip currents and flat at 1 foot or less. However, thunderstorm potential actually stays high on Thursday down here. It'll be partly sunny with showers and thunderstorms likely continuing. Winds shift to the east around 10 miles per hour with lower 80s for the high. So here's the bottom line: if you're planning to get in the water, be aware that rip currents are either moderate or high risk everywhere except Southwest Florida.
