Michael Harenberg ist Komponist und Professor für Musikalische Gestaltung und Medientheorie an der Hochschule der Künste in Bern. Seine künstlerischen und wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte bilden neben digitalen Klangkulturen vor allem experimentelle Interfaces, virtuelle Instrumente sowie die Körperlichkeit elektroakustischer Musik im Kontext instrumentaler und installativer Settings. Er war von 2004 bis 2014 Vorsitzender der „Deutschen Gesellschaft für Elektroakustische Musik“ und erhielt im Wintersemester 2016/17 die Edgar-Varèse-Gastprofessur für Computermusik des DAAD an der TU-Berlin. Heute ist er Co-Leiter des Bachelorstudiengangs Sound Arts - Musik und Medienkunst sowie des Masterstudiengangs Contemporary Arts Practice an der Hochschule der Künste Bern. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems.
