Michael Wilson is the assistant curator and visual learning specialist for the African American Museum in Philadelphia, the first institution funded and built by a major municipality to preserve, interpret and exhibit the heritage of African Americans. The African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) announced its summer lineup of exhibitions including two new, exciting exhibitions on view at the museum until September 6 and a travelling exhibition on view at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital. One of these exhibits includes an exhibit of Ona Judge, an enslaved woman who escaped the presidential household of George and Martha Washington in 1796, and an exhibit that celebrates the legacy of the Philadelphia Negro Leagues and the trailblazers who broke barriers in America’s pastime. Michael joins the show to talk about these new upcoming exhibits at AAMP.
