Michelle Bowdler

from The Downtown Writers Jam · host Solid Listen

Author Michelle Bowdler's memoir, Is Rape a Crime? A Memoir, An Investigation, and A Manifesto, was long-listed for the National Book Award this year. That's an amazing accomplishment for a writer, but there's so much more to her own life story. She stopped by the Bunker to talk with Brad about growing up poor in Ohio, selling fruit on the side of the road to help pay for college, developing a love of baseball thanks to neighborhood fathers after her own dad passed away, and eventually making her way the Harvard School of Public Health. Along the way, she worked with people in addiction recovery and today she's the Executive of Health & Wellness at Tufts. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
