Jim Harbaugh has been suspended by Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti because Michigan Football has violated the conference's sportsmanship policy. Per Pete Thamel, the Big Ten has been considering handing down a punishment to Jim Harbaugh since Sunday, but there were delays in the announcement due to letters of protest from the University of Michigan. These punishments ranged from suspension to a large fine. Michigan Football could come out of this punishment unscathed, as Harbaugh is only suspended until the end of the regular season and he can coach the team during the week in practice facilities. If the Wolverines go 3-0 in their remaining three games, he would be eligible to return to the sidelines and coach the team in the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoffs (or their postseason bowl game if they do not make the playoffs or conference championship game).
