Michigan vs East Carolina Preview + Prediction | College Football 2023

The Michigan Wolverines will open up the 2023 College Football season against the East Carolina Pirates. Michigan Football is a 36-point favorite, despite Michigan's head coach Jim Harbaugh, and offensive coordinator, Sherrone Moore, being suspended. Instead of Jim Harbaugh coaching on the sidelines, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter will serve as the acting head coach for this game. Michigan returns quarterback JJ McCarthy, running backs Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum, wide receivers Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson, and offensive guards Zak Zinter and Trevor Keggan to spearhead the offense. On defense, Michigan will be without elite cornerback Will Johnson, but defensive tackle Kris Jenkins, linebacker Junior Colson, and safety Rod Moore will play along with the rest of the starting lineup. East Carolina lost two 1,000-yard wide receivers last year and long-time starting quarterback Holton Ahlers left for the NFL.
