Ryan Walters ripped Jim Harbaugh's team for cheating in the pre-game, and Michigan Football ripped apart Purdue Football in response. Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy passed for 335 yards on 37 attempts yesterday. He had some off throws and his footwork was mediocre, but he played all four quarters and got quality repetitions against a Purdue defense that was vicious along the defensive front. While the rushing attack was underwhelming, Michigan punched it in 5 times on the ground thanks to Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, and Semaj Morgan. The defense had 1 sack, 3 tackles for loss, and 6 pass deflections with several more pressures on Hudson Card. The Wolverines' secondary was in lockdown. Despite Michigan's rusty play, they dominated, which I expected. My 59-7 prediction was excessive in retrospect, but the Wolverines scored more than 40 points, had 5 rushing touchdowns, controlled the clock, and played nearly flawless on defense. I think an appropriate reaction to this game is one of neutrality. Michigan Football has concerns along the offensive line, special teams are bad, and the run game has not impressed, however, the Wolverines' passing offense is becoming more comfortable, and the defense looks as stout as ever.
