Michter's Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey 10 Year Old | Whisky Review | Whiskey Tasting Welcome back to the Speakeasy Bourbon Club. What a find, thanks to My Friends Bottle Shop. Cracking open this Michter's Single Barrel 10 Year Rye is a treat. I know this is not going to be a one drink review but at MSRP I don’t feel guilty. In the glass I see a molasses tint and cant wait to bring it to the nose. Immediately I noticed a lack of ethanol but the presence of herbal spice, butterscotch and dried banana. On the palate, I get hit with more butterscotch, spice and dried fruit but this time a bit of orange or orange peel. On the finish I see what I was missing and its spearmint. I’m getting all the other flavors but this one will open up and allow the flavors to play together very well. A decanter or cube of ice will make this bottle a favorite.
