The UK Government forcibly sent 150,000 kids abroad between 1920 and 1967 to 'whiten' Australia and Canada.Gordon Brown made a formal apology to the British children affected, many of whom faced abuse and a regime of unpaid labour.Brown only made the formal apology after the Australian government issued their own. He called the programme 'misguided'.
