When the Tampa Bay Rays cut Mickey Jannis after his second minor league season he made the bold decision to develop a knuckleball—one of the rarest and most difficult pitches to master.  Mickey didn't have the fastball velocity most of his peers had and he thought doing something different might help him standout.  After more than a decade in the minor leagues, Mickey recently became just the 8th knuckleball pitcher to debut in Major League Baseball in the last 20 years.
