Michael Thorne Jarrett Psalm 121 Psalm 11 Psalm 25 OfficiantO God, make speed to save us. AllO Lord, make haste to help us. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. The following Psalms are read Psalm 121 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains. * From where is my help to come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, * the maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot be moved; * he who watches over you will not slumber. 4 Behold, he who watches over Israel * will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you; * the LORD is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, * nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all evil; * he will watch over your life. 8 The LORD will watch over your going out and your coming in * from this time forth, and forevermore. † CompositePsalm 11 1 In the LORD I have taken refuge; * how then can you say to my soul, “Flee like a bird to the mountains." 2 For behold, the wicked bend the bow; and prepare their arrow upon the string * to shoot in a moonless night at the upright in heart. 3 For they have destroyed what you have established. * But the righteous one, what did he do? 4 The LORD is in his holy temple; * the LORD’s throne is in heaven. 4 His eyes watch over the needy, * his eyelids examine the children of man. 5 The LORD examines the righteous and the wicked; * the one who loves violence his own soul hates. 6 On the wicked he will rain snares and fire; * sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup. 7 For the LORD is righteous and he loves righteousness; * his face beholds the upright. † CompositePsalm 25 1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. * O my God, in you I trust; 2 let me not be put to shame; * let not my enemies triumph over me. 3 Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; * but shame will come to those who are treacherous without cause. 4 Show me your ways, O LORD; * teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, * for you are the God of my salvation; for you do I wait all the day long. 6 Remember, O LORD, your tender mercies and your faithful love, * for they have been from of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; * according to your faithful love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD. 8 Good and upright is the LORD; * therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
