As we reach the peak of the summer of 2020, Peter Ravella and Tyler Buckingham take a breather and canvas the field around the American shoreline. Few years have been more uncertain and more unusual. Many beaches are closed. The coastal tourism economy has suffered several body blows, draining local government tax revenues and damaging coastal businesses. International trade has plummeted, driving shipping and port business to new lows. And, there's is little good to say about the leisure cruise industry, which has all but shut down, at least for now. The coastal critters seem to be benefitting though as more and quieter space is available for wildlife and we look beyond the bad news too No guest on this episode of the American Shoreline Podcast.
