Midnight Snack E155: Not Every Opportunity is Your Assignment

For kids who aren't mine. Grandkids who aren't mine. Hell, they're not even technically related to me. And nobody asked me to do it. That's when I caught myself standing at the entrance to a pattern many of us know all too well: I see a need. I know how to help. Therefore...I guess it's my job. But is it? In Midnight Snack E155, we're exploring the strange place where generosity, compassion, competence, and overfunctioning start wearing each other's clothes. What's the difference between freely helping someone and quietly assigning yourself responsibility for their problem? When does support become rescue? And how much of our time, money, emotional bandwidth, and energy gets spent on assignments nobody ever actually gave us? Sometimes the most important question isn't: "Can I help?" It's: "Is this actually mine?" Because you are allowed to notice a problem without adopting it. You are allowed to possess the solution without becoming responsible for providing it. You are allowed to care without converting care into labor. And not every opportunity... is your assignment. 💡 Release · Reveal · Respond🎙️Produced by Kavi Apoha Studios 🌕A Zero Point Eclectic Production 💬 Hosted by Gin — Soul Doula, Eclectic Alchemist, founder of ZPE & QFFC. 🎵Theme Song Lyrics: Rev.
