Midweek Mention... Raising Cain

Peter Andre had fond memories of the 1992 Brian De Palma movie RAISING CAIN and with none of the other dads having seen it, the midweek mention was the perfect place to settle down and discuss this feverishly ludicrous psychological thriller. John Lithgow is Dr Carter Nix, acclaimed child psychologist and sufferer of multiple personality disorder whose discovery of his wife's infidelity may be enough to cause him a total breakdown. The bonkers script and incredible mega-acting of Lithgow lift what would otherwise be a fairly sub-par melodrama to classic status as it successfully deconstructs and comments on the psycho sexual thriller genre whilst simultaneously adding to it.
