Midyear Check-In

Borrowing the image of a temperature check, this standalone midyear message asks a single question: have you taken your spiritual temperature lately? Revelation 3:14–22 frames the lukewarm church at Laodicea — worldly and self-satisfied — alongside Ephesus, busy and orthodox yet having lost its first love. Both were unaware of their true condition. Echoing 2 Corinthians 13:5, the teaching is not about earning salvation but about whether a saved life looks fundamentally different from the world. It works through a self-examination of hands (working for the kingdom), feet (willing to go and to step away from sin), eyes and ears (mourning sin rather than justifying it by grace), mouth, and heart. The recurring challenge is to take the next step in discipleship — or to find courage to step away from an addiction or relationship pulling you from Christ — and to return to a first love grown cold from autopilot faith.
