Received an email from Ruth Olsen Blohm and asked if Mom still made the eggplant Parmesan. Mom, yes, once in awhile , when Lisa comes over to help. 3. Mike remembers being a student when Mom was a teacher, and was asked to do favors for the teacher. And studying with IPI Individually prescribed Instruction. 4. Mom, talks about the history of the first thanksgiving. In 1621, there was a Harvest festival after a very successful season. Celebrated with Wawpanaw Indians. The Indians heard guns going off and came by to see what was going on .. but there was tension in the air? Native people are still living in New England. 5. Mom, talks about the possibility of Indians celebrate some type of thanksgiving. 6. They ate, all types of food, including English gardens and sage, thyme, dill, beans, walnuts and chestnuts. Venison, water foul, lobster & fish. 7. In 1789 - Washington declared a feast day but in. 1863 president Lincoln declared it a national holiday. 8. Mom, everybody remembers thanksgiving differently. Moms brother Lee, remembers placing a cloth over the food and taking a walk then coming back to eat again. 9. Mom ate pies. Apple, peach, pears & cherries. Oranges & bananas we had to buy. 10. Moms mother canned a lot of fruit & vegetables. Her mom made the best pickled beets in the world! 11. Mike shopping list: 14lb turkey. Green bean casserole, Brussels sprouts. Mashed potatoes & wishbone dressing for mom, & Italian bread. 12. Ninja XL, very cool, you can buy frozen French fries or onion rings. 13. What have you been watching on TV? Mom, “The Undoing” on HBO .. it’s a good one! 14. Mike, gives recipients for beet salad.
