1. December 23rd! Woohoo! Hoping for a white Xmas :) 2. Mom has a cold and a runny nose. 3. Joe da plumber and Wendy Lalli free 60min consultation 4. *Mike, getting closer to the end of COVID-19. Mom, not so fast, it will take a long time! We argue! 5. Mike, remembering Dads spot lights showing us walking down the stairs Xmas day. All the kids came down in order in pajamas with feet in them :) dad would be smiling from ear to ear. 6. Mom & Dad put together the toys, for the kids. Easy bake oven. 7. Mike, gas creepy crawlers, made a lizard or spider and put it in a diaper. 8. Mike drive Barbie dolls in a yellow dump truck for the girls. 9. Dad had a train that ran around the tree, with a system, tarp, bubble wrap, 3 inch green platform with an O scale train and an HO train going around the tree. Used liquid smoke in the train. 10. We had real trees for sometime, but one year lost the water in the tank, and no more real trees, dad said, to many needles! 11. We get real trees every year these days, Douglas tree or Frazier fur are preferred. 12. Mom, tried to make cookies from grandmas recipe, but it was a pinch of this and that, but it was a disaster. Even the dog Gina. Wouldn’t eat it. Terrible. 13. Our cousins in New Jersey send us Xmas cookies every year. 14. Mom was on a cookie exchange but did not do very good, pies were more her style. 15. Mike, I seem to remember a cake walk where the winner goes home with a cake! Mom, wouldn’t be my cake 🍰:( 16. Aunt Lucille would come out to cook the seven dishes dinner, $300 of fish and cooked it in our garage. Loved it! 17. Octopus, cod, Bacala, and eel. The eel could come back alive after it was frozen. Mom remembers looking at a frozen eel looking at her in the fridge. 18. Some one pickled the left over eel on year and it was great! 19. Aunt Lucille, one year was pushing the broccoli! Haha it was on a cassette tape. 20. Mom, didn’t remember having a big dinner for Xmas until later in the big house. 21. Mom, was swinging an alarm cloak and it flew through the newspaper and hit him in the face . “Frances, you could hurt somebody with that” Her mother would have cracked her one. 22. Mike, reminisced about Xmas in New Jersey visiting BERKLEY Hts., NJ with all the thick snow coming down and uncle Carmen worked at the florist a d everyone was in the Xmas spirit, loved it! 23. Mike, let’s sing some Xmas songs. We sing “Frosty the snowman”, “Blue Xmas”, and “Happy Xmas” oh boy, you’ll never hear these songs the same ever again. 24. Mike, is looking forward to being with the family for Xmas, we will do the grab bag and open gifts then head back home. We were just going to drive up and crack the window a bit and hand out the Christmas cards. 25. Mine, do not take your girlfriend to a jewelry store and but her a necklace .. when she told everyone she was getting a ring. Big trouble. 26. Mom, remembers all the thoughtful gifts she received from the kids over the years. 27. Mike, I want to see that box someday and see what I got for you when I was 8 yrs old.

Mom read the Betty White book I got her .. mom was more surprised to hear about the other things she did in her career. Interesting book. She’s getting near 100yrs old. 3. Prince Phillip died last Friday at 99yrs of age .. mike watched “The Crown” and learned about Prince Phillip and how he had to be the second fiddle so to speak .. We will plan to watch the funeral with all the family. Prince Charles might be able to have a chance as king, but we will see. 4. Talked about the opera Winfrey interview with prince Harry and his wife Megan .. and how she said she had no idea of what to expect . Mike .. give me break .. 5. Mom did things she did for money maybe next time .. but today we will talk about the package that came in the mail from cousin Kathleen from Nancy’s garage .. which contains all the memorabilia from her parents .. we received letters and diaries and all types of things .. even a letter that Mom wrote on my behalf to her parents when I was 2 1/2 days old .. pretty incredible. 6. Cousin Kathryn & Warren are like kids in a candy store .. planting palm trees in the yard in their new home in Eugene Oregon .. putting up a ton of Xmas lights .. because a neighbor told them they needed to put up lights .. and they did! 7. Kathryn as a ling time private plane stewardess has tons of stories about the celebrities she worked with and will someday write a book .. Michael Jackson was great .. nicest person you could ever meet .. very sweet! And slapped on the rear by president Bush .. 8. Aunt Nancy will be moving in with her daughter in July a d we will be going out to Oregon in June to visit and help out with the move. 9. Mom being eldest child Mom will be receiving all the materials from her parents Frances Elaine Babb and Avon Dale Babb who lived to 97 and 91yrs of age. 10. We received their passports, diaries, weather reports, even from 1927 when mom was born .. mom’s mom called her “jingle” so cute .. 11. Mom got a book for her mom when she was in the hospital .. but didn’t read what it was about .. it was about a very sexual relationship .. oh no! 12. Mom found a letter from her father with the 22nd aero squadron before we had an official Air Force from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦. Wrote letters about flying as a gunner and a pilot with a picture of planes fighting in the air. 13. Mom - the letter that choked us up was the letter I wrote my parents when Michael was born .. Mike read a western union note my father sent to her parents on may 25th 1959 tbd day Michael was born .. My husband was so proud that he finally had a boy. 14. Michael read the letter that mom wrote to her parents on his behalf at 2 1/2 days old .. I am full of vim vigor and vitality .. ha! Burp I’m eating good now .. taking after dad I probably want Beer! I only get a few glances of dad now and just see his bright white smiling teeth .. I’m 7lbs 11oz .. 20” long .. mom stripped me down to make sure I was a boy .. I love to put my head on my moms shoulder a d sleep .. I’m sleepy now .. good game for now .. Michael James Latone.. 15. Mom - nobody lives forever .. everyone has these books and mementoes in life .. I’ve always wanted to write a memoir about my parents ... that would great .. mom lives her parents dearly .. 16. Mike - hey mom we can now live it up .. now that we both have received two Pfizer shots.. mom yea and we’ll be going to a wake to celebrate .. but with friends we haven’t seen in a long time. .. and I can get my haircut! Mom, he wasn’t going to put the wheelchair in the car and it worked out great . They can e right to us . Didn’t have to go to the gymnasium 12. Mine, my nephew Clayton got Covid-19 . But asked for the parents to luck him up . And they said what? They finally put him up in a hotel with room & board .. whew! 13. Mom, outdoor dining in the paper didn’t look that great .. eating out in a parking lot .. Mike, but in chicago it’s much different .. 14. Question from Don Oblazney .. Howard Johnson’s or holiday Inn in the 1970’s 15. Mike, I remember looking for the holiday inn sign. 16. We never stayed at a Howard Johnson’s 17. But holiday inn and they had a pool .. woohoo! 18. 1. Mom, always cold, Mike always hot .. cold draft always. Received a black afgan from Caroline Maglione from New Jersey .. she’s knitted for a long time. 2. Moms knitting was not great .. everything came out large! Mom macramed many things .. plant hangers .. 3. Mike - Timmy Sherman .. was selling very expensive sea sells .. so I sold my own sea sells .. for a nickel or a dime 4. Mom, hoes the driving in the snow, Mike? 5. Mike, question，did you forget how to drive. No, not me .. but the guy in the paper about grammar forget how to drive .. haha 6. Mike, drove downtown .. came back when it was snowing all night .. I had to go slow . And watch your speed .. and with anti-lock .. I had no control .. I liked the day you can spin the wheels .. I’m driving a 2018 Kia Soul .. light as a feather .. Anti-lock brakes .. pulled in the guest spot and got stuck across from my house .. 100ft .. I backed in and the plow out more snow on the car .. a neighbor helped me dig out the car 🚗 cleaned the snow .. said goodby .. and nothing .. and nothing .. and nothing .. tried to push and jump in the car .. but that’s dangerous .. I get some rock salt in front and rear of the wheel .. and bingo. 7. Mom, you got stuck at Lisa’s .. mike yes, Monday night I need to fix her flat tire .. I got to Lisa’s and a foot and half of snow .. I pulled into her driveway . I got a shovel .. started shoveling .. then finally got two cardboard box 📦.. jammed the box under the front wheel .. and then the front left box flew out .. then jammed a box under the right front and bam! I went inside to change the tire but no jack .. put her car charger from the garage to get trunk .. 8. Vince got hit really bad with 2 1/2 ft of snow! 9. Mom, what do you think they’re doing with going back to school? Mom would go in .. it’s part of my job .. I would have to go in .. how do they demonstrate they are at a safe school .. what are their plans? 10. Mom, little kids or bigger kids for remote learning. More important for little Kidd .. 11. Drove to Archie Coleman’s farm to watch the fireworks ... I would later go .. but watch from home ... but the fireworks on Wednesday night were great! 6. Mike would go with the Avignone brothers to summer fest .. to see the fireworks ... great show! Mario would go to Oregon bring back edibles for me! 7. Mom, living on a 40acre yard with a dog .. dogs lived outside .. as we grew up we made tree houses, climbed trees, great life, riding horse names gypsy with eng,ish saddle, skating shows with an outfit, started singing with Carl gootman and locked myself in the bathroom .. got nervous about being in front of classmates .. graduated and worked as an usherette ... and making cartoons on the front window .. and an usherette at McDonald’s theatre ... not the restaurant ... left and went to chicago with loran and holly peal, became a catholic ... met Jim .. had 😉five kids .. those were the greatest years .. with five little kids ... with j8m workin* nights as a film editor ... tugging the kids in a wagon m didn’t have drivers license. .. then became a teacher .. 16. mike, dad wasn’t making enough and mom wanted kids to go to collage ,, so mom decided to become a teacher ... even though she never wanted to become a teacher .. 17. Mom, Laurie died then dad died .. but the happiest part of my life was with all the kids .. go in the crawl space for fire drills .. with our dog Gina .. then took trips to NJ and Oregon .. 18. mom, with five little kids .. was the greatest! 19. Mike, you also liked traveling to the Jersey shore .. it was a great time .. but had sad times .. but led your life in glory .. when bad things happened in my life .. my father was a strong person. 20. Mike, remembers grandfather .. having self dicipline .. mom is like her father ... in many ways .. and her mom too .. 21. mike, mom, you had a great life .. what do you still want to do? 22. Mom - been reading about teachers going back to work .. 147 didn’t go back to school .. mom has mixed feelings about going back to school .. but in a long run .. it’s the teachers job to teach the children. Iwould must likely go in 。it’s my duty. 4. Mike - college students were complaining about not getting all they are paying for over a zoom classroom .. 5. Mike - don’t parents have new respect for teachers? Mom, absolutely .. the kids want to be back .. it’s important for children to be in school 6. Mike - it’s difficult to play in a band on zoom .. we will find out in the next few weeks. I’m teaching my ESL class on Tuesday’s .. I lost a few students .. One student needed to make lunch for her daughter. I’ve been helping David, my Korean student, with interviewing for a truck driver job .. butt I do want to be teaching more English .. so I need to start opening the book more. We will go over what they did over the week and put it on the whiteboard. But today we had all three students! 7. Mike- Did some mock trials this week as a backup. I played two cops who had to be on trial about their shooting at a person who had a gun and was firing it in an alley. 8. I was wearing my black button down shirt and dark tie. I was dressed as a cop today. I had a new attitude in class today calling out students to participate. We had a fun class today. 9. In the book we talked about descriptions for different countries. 10. We learned about Japan, Korea, Beijing and Iran. In Korea they have two New Years. No China town New years for Helen this year .. too much violence. One year Helen made shaved pig heart for an Entre .. very interesting . 11. Mom - Asian people are very respectful 12. Mike - started to feel guilty about not opening up the book in every class, especially for David who drives for Uber. 13. What person did you admire when you were young? Mom - Franklin Roosevelt “my friends” , his wife too. Eleanor. Robert Redford .. dreamt of a plane crash with Robert Redford .. where I had hearts above my head .. and he had my arm . 1. We just stayed hone for New Years .. watched “that’s Entertainement” with all the old MGM movie stars .. 2. Mike - did not see the actual ball drop .. it’s just a figure of speech .. 3. Mom - read articles about people keeping their Xmas decorations up longer. 4. Mike - this year we have sparky lights up the stairs. 5. Mom got a beer pong grab bag .. ridicules gift for mom .. but Ryan grabbed it. Our grab bags we bought at Costco .. nice fluffy towels and two nice knit hats .. 6. Mike - got a case of chocolate liqueur, real tasty, Linda said it was a good choice for me. 7. We’re making up our own questions now so please help! One war send more questions 8. Last week we responded to Nancy’s letter she sent, Mom’s student teacher. Mom said it was great to work with Nancy and that she listened to our show. 9. Bears vs Packers game on Sunday didn’t go so well .. 10. It’s 2021 - vaccines are slowly coming out .. the roll out is not going too well so far ..but we will get there, slowly but surely. 11. Mom is thinking about getting the vaccine .. but is worried about her allergies . They say severe allergies can be very bad . . Peanuts or other food items. 12. Mike - they can handle allergies . But cannot handle a severe case of COVID 19. 13. New strain is a concern .. but hopefully we’ll be ok. 14. Mike - there are young people who are dying in three days .. even if you het the shot it takes about a month to have an effect. 15. Mike - let’s say thanks to all the people that are on the front lines .. that helped to keep us safe. 16. Mom & Mike read in the paper about a retired carpenter who built some desks for kids to study at in their home .. a very nice story. We both read the paper everyday .. and mom has to do the crossword puzzles .. otherwise there’s no reason to get out of bed. 17. What have you guys been eating lately that is healthy? We ate a ham for Xmas . But need to minimize the amount of processed foods. 18. Mike - made a quick recipe with Avocados .. didn’t turn out that good .. but the quiche was great . We used a Cauliflower crust and asparagus with spinach .. mmm good! 19. Mike - new Hot air fryer is great fun! Going to try . Shrimp scampi, feta cheese vegi burger, Vietnamese meatball s, adzuki beans are good to eat. 20. Mike - if you were to buy a new computer would it be a mac or a PC. Mike, went shopping for an AMD Ryzen processor vs an Intel processor .. Dell inspiring Ryzen 7 512 SSD .. 21. Mom - what’s a PC? 22. 1. Added to family Xmas card pictures from our Xmas celebration with the family. 2. Watched “Midnight Sky” George Clooney’s new movie on Netflix. 3. Received an email from a student teacher of Mom .. Nancy Jenson Dembkowski and we read the letter .. she mentioned to be a teacher you learn something everyday .. teach with your heart .. first .. I am so honored to have her as my friend .. have you ever had a student teacher who loved you as much as I love my mentor 9. Mom, thank you Nancy, you were a sweet young energetic young teacher and I SM do happy I can still still calm Nancy mg friend . 10. I remember my very first student teacher , Rookie Shifrin with her boots. 11. Student teachers are scheduled to be in a classroom fit weeks or months. Some were more outgoing, done took to it right away. Mom says it was the most excited job in the world. 12. Student teachers had a supervisor .. not all teachers had a student teacher, but I enjoyed it very much. 13. Mom remembers being alittle Zaney 14. Students would sometimes be sad to see the student teacher leave .. 15. Mom taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th .. and taught kindergarten in the summer and special education. 16. One time we had to bury a little dead animal .. at recess. 17. Mom, had a new Japanese student with his parents right off the plane ✈️.. and parents 18. pushed him in the classroom .. he was stiff and frightened .. we had to bend his legs, and SAF him down and drew a red circle 🔴 like the Japanese flag . 19. The family had to go and see his teacher first before even going home. They sometimes came by later in the day . 20. I received three students from India .. different casts. 21. One women had a small boy who was into everything .. and he drank some water fleas and I let him .. then the mother was more responsive .. 22. worked with many children from many other countries 23. Mike got the Xmas lights up finally and got a tree. Ace hardware wanted .. $189 for a nine foot tree .. crazy .. in PA you can get a tree for $10 .. so I got a skinny tree from Menard’s .. it’s on a diet mom says .. we used to get huge trees but they sometimes fell over .. so mike bought a German engineered steel stand, iron clad stand .. love it. We prefer Frazier or Douglas fur, they retain their needles much better. 6. Mom, wanted a real tree wag back when and spilled the water and the needles were everywhere .. from then on out .. we got an artificial tree .. but when we moved here .. we’ve had a real tree every year. Sister Linda would go and chop down her own tree 7. Mike, un wraps the tree in the store and we only need two good sides, because it’s in a corner. 8. We put tinsel on the tree .. mom says we have the loose tinsel .. but we ran out .. now it’s swag, by mom .. tinsel by mike .. and argue. 9. Mike mentions the thin trees mom used to buy for Xmas .. Mom mentions her worst tree ever, first Xmas alone in chicago, feeling sorry, went to bed, and every needle fell off in the morning. Just like Charlie Brown. 10. Mom, this Xmas is falling flat, well just drive up and drop off gifts most likely, and sending money this year. 11. Mike, aunt Donna, was on the phone and said she wasn’t doing anything for Xmas, but mom already sent a gift so now she has to send a gift. 12. Mike, used to rotate his clothes in the garage and wash clothes immediately .. but now more relaxed .. but I drive Uber back then. 13. Mike, might be working for the census bureau and might be able to use some questions so for the show. 14. Mike, Mom, would you take the vaccine Mom, I might but, I heard that people with allergies have had a reaction, so maybe not. We’ll see. 15. Mom, the shot might still leave people contagious. Mike, the shot does one thing, prevents people from coming down with COVID-19. 16. Monday President Biden was officially voted in as next president .. so we shall see how that works out. 17. Nancy Legg - Mom’s former teacher friend .. writes great holiday cards . But last year told us her son actually writes the letters .. 12. Fran - how do you keep busy at 79 l.. way back in 2002 daughter moved in with three kids . Ryan, Nick & Alyssa . For five years .. Fran took Alyssa to auditions on trains .. actors need to be available for auditions at a moments notice .. Fran is in two book clubs used to keep Mom busy . Mom loves to read .. we will post moms list of books .. for all to enjoy .. 13. Mike had to get Fran another paper because mom needs to read the daily herald everyday and do the crossword puzzle. 14. Mom did things she did for money maybe next time .. but today we will talk about the package that came in the mail from cousin Kathleen from Nancy’s garage .. which contains all the memorabilia from her parents .. we received letters and diaries and all types of things .. even a letter that Mom wrote on my behalf to her parents when I was 2 1/2 days old .. pretty incredible. 6. Cousin Kathryn & Warren are like kids in a candy store .. planting palm trees in the yard in their new home in Eugene Oregon .. putting up a ton of Xmas lights .. because a neighbor told them they needed to put up lights .. and they did! 7. Kathryn as a ling time private plane stewardess has tons of stories about the celebrities she worked with and will someday write a book .. Michael Jackson was great .. nicest person you could ever meet .. very sweet! And slapped on the rear by president Bush .. 8. Aunt Nancy will be moving in with her daughter in July a d we will be going out to Oregon in June to visit and help out with the move. 9. Mom being eldest child Mom will be receiving all the materials from her parents Frances Elaine Babb and Avon Dale Babb who lived to 97 and 91yrs of age. 10. We received their passports, diaries, weather reports, even from 1927 when mom was born .. mom’s mom called her “jingle” so cute .. 11. Mom got a book for her mom when she was in the hospital .. but didn’t read what it was about .. it was about a very sexual relationship .. oh no! 12. Mom found a letter from her father with the 22nd aero squadron before we had an official Air Force from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦. Wrote letters about flying as a gunner and a pilot with a picture of planes fighting in the air. 13. Mom - the letter that choked us up was the letter I wrote my parents when Michael was born .. Mike read a western union note my father sent to her parents on may 25th 1959 tbd day Michael was born .. My husband was so proud that he finally had a boy. 14. Michael read the letter that mom wrote to her parents on his behalf at 2 1/2 days old .. I am full of vim vigor and vitality .. ha! Burp I’m eating good now .. taking after dad I probably want Beer! I only get a few glances of dad now and just see his bright white smiling teeth .. I’m 7lbs 11oz .. 20” long .. mom stripped me down to make sure I was a boy .. First off ... clarification .. referred to father DonQuizote... Sancho Pancho ... Kids are going back to school ... let’s talk about it for a bit. Fran: it’s not an easy decision ... Younger do better in school .. older students can go remotely much better. Mike: where will Kids eat? Mom: ate in classroom. Teachers with small kids at home can be tough. Mike: Linda & Lisa are dressed like martians in the dental field. School teachers can’t do that can they? 1. What bit of advice did you receive that you referred to the most in your life? Fran: my mom said be a lady .. dad said nothing ventured nothing gained ...Mom said she sounded like Deanna Durbin .. sang in a band and roller skating shows with a match in my mouth ... and lit it on the ground. Fran: The birth of my first child .... it was a miracle! On expecting another child ... how could I love another child ... just got bigger love! Maybe wedding? Graduation? Singing at an auditorium .. microphone was going down ... and Ai was going down ... someone ran out to put the mic back up .. and I was sooo happy. In New Jersey ... all the 103 Italian relatives ... women talked about child bearing ... mom worked in the garden with the men .. played bocce ball ... learned much later that was their glory women ... Fran: not much, only German food, white sauces ... dad likes only Italian .. .with tomatoes ... on maple lane I remember waking up to garlic simmering in the pot with the eco bones and gravy we cooked all day ... on Northampton .. mom made us work in the yard before going out to play .. we would go in to stir the gravy .. and comeback out with a red ring around our mouth because we were eating meatballs .... then when we ate dinner ... no more meat balls! 5. A show featuring a Mother and Son who see life through different eyes and discuss their outlook on life as affected by their differences in age, generations and backgrounds. During each show, Fran answers questions from listeners using her unique view of life and her 94 years of wisdom. Her oldest son Mike puts in his two cents as well and together make for some thought provoking conversations. It's like have a 3 1/2 hour conversation with your Mom while sitting at the beach and recording the best 30min so everyone can listen in. Mom intro, Mike intro. Mom ESL teacher story. 1. What was it like as a women in college and what were your favorite classes? Fran: No men in college, most men were in the war except for 4F’s. Went to some USO club events. Wore saddle shoes, skirts, sweaters or cashmere sweater. Peterpan collars. Paid own way through college. Worked as an usherette at night with a cute black & white outfit. Mcdonalds theater, carried a flashlight. Dr. baldinger, running cameras in classrooms. Worked on the farm and made 15 cents per hour or 1 dollar for each task. Mrs Archibald did not like my cooking and made me walk around around campus with a failed recipient. Tried to impress her and lost footing and tumbled under her piano. Did mens work on farm because most men were in the war. University of High School used university campus. Favorite classes in college, not math. as a teacher wanted to get kids to like math. Mrs Dan was my math teacher ... but I was a basket case ... but later took math at Harper college and learned math later in life. Mike: Alyssa, my niece, was good at math and minored in math to study film editing. Fran: Fran did the blue books in college, testing booklet, pamphlet. Answer book. One book two book three books ... and class was still on fist book. Photographic memory. Roxy, my friend, hated to sit next to me in class. I was not good at Phycology. 2. What was the most important invention of your lifetime? Fran: mother got a washing machine, ran on a loud motor, put, put, put. Dec 7th 1941 Pearl Harbor day moved out of garage. Mike: grandpa was an type of Entreprenuer .... donkee hoody. .. chasing things ... read about black hole. We had encyclopedia Britainica .. 1921. No comic books.
