Mike Breen: Knicks Win, Theeeeeee Knicks Win
from Hey Now! The Dave Sims Show
Mike Breen joins Hey Now! to reminisce with longtime friend Dave Sims—going all the way back to their days together at WNBC in 1986, when, as Mike jokes, “Dave still had hair!” In this episode, the legendary NBA play-by-play announcer reflects on his journey, from his childhood bedroom adorned with a Walt "Clyde" Frazier poster (which still hangs in his old room at his mom’s house) to his college years at Fordham’s WFUV and his admiration for broadcasting icons like Vin Scully. Mike shares invaluable lessons learned along the way, from his dream of calling NBA games to his 30-year partnership with his hero, Clyde, and his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. It’s a journey that has turned a lifelong passion into one of sports' most celebrated voices -- one that even included a call from Mr. Scully himself.
