Mike Payne: How the Team at Nine Circles Provide Knowledge, Resources and Expertise to Reduce HIV Transmission

from Humans, On Rights

The best way to protect yourself and others from HIV transmission is to be informed about prevention methods. For most people, taking PrEP ( PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis) is the best way to reduce the risk of HIV contraction. On this episode Mike Payne (he/him) the Executive Director of Nine Circles Community Health Centre talks about HIV, the stigma attached to those in our community with HIV, and why education continues to be one of the biggest challenges in advancing the true understanding of people living with HIV. Mike is both an educator and an activist, and through his team at Nine Circles, they continue to lead the fight against HIV. Mike asked that the following links be added to these episode notes so you can become better educated to help support  those who have HIV.www.ninecircles.cawww.CATIE.cahttps://sexfriendlymb.ninecircles.ca/Click here for a transcript of this episode.
