Mikey Varas Pregame
from The Section 1904 Podcast Hosted by Darren Smith
This is the “Coach’s Conversation with Head Coach Mikey Varas”, recorded ahead of Wednesday’s match against Houston Dynamo. These previews are heard on the SDFC Kickoff Show on San Diego Sports 760 and the IHeartRadio App. Our pregame coverage starts 30 minutes before kickoff for most matches. We talked about the Club’s decision to travel straight from Salt Lake to Houston, what went wrong in the first 10 minutes against RSL and how Mikey manages a mistake that turns into a viral moment, like the howler for Duran Ferree last match. Mikey isn’t on social media but his players are. Interesting stuff. We also talked about the subs and what stands out about Dynamo so far. Join Adrian Garcia Marquez and me on the radio for every MLS match and a reminder - you can listen to our radio broadcast on AppleTV for all home matches by locating the “Home Radio” option in the lower right corner of the broadcast.
