Miles - Four Tracks - now in CD quality

Miles Davis invented ambient music, you know. Brian Eno (almost) said that, so it must be true..* Eno was referring to He Loved Him Madly, Miles' 1974 elegy for the late Duke Ellington. Not ambient, but haunting, narcotic, ecstatic and very moving. (*any other contenders?) 1. In A Silent Way (edit) - 15.20 - February 18 1969 Miles – trumpet , Wayne Shorter – soprano saxophone, John McLaughlin – electric guitar, Chick Corea – electric piano, Herbie Hancock – electric piano, Joe Zawinul – electric piano, organ, Dave Holland – double bass, Tony Williams – drums A rework from the peerless album In A Silent Way, recorded in a one day session. This shorter version was issued on Panthalassa, the album Laswell put together when they let him loose on Miles' master tapes. I steered clear of the word remix there, because that would be sacrilege, and Laswell's versions actually work. It's still Miles. 3. We haven't used the 32 minute original He Loved.. from Get Up With It here, instead we've got Bill Laswell's 13 minute reinterpretation from Panthalassa. 4. Guinevere - 18.07 - 1970 MIles - trumpet, Wayne Shorter - soprano saxophone, Bennie Maupin - bass clarinet, Joe Zawiunul and Chick Corea - electric piano, John McLaughlin - electric guitar, Dave Holland - electric bass, Khalil Balakrishna - sitar, Billy Cobham & Jack DeJohnette - drums, Airto Moreira - cuica, percussion. Available on 1979 compilation Circle In The Round, with a longer version on the 1998 Complete Bitches Brew Sessions.  Guinevere written by David Crosby. To quote Wikipedia, 'According to David Crosby's 2016 podcast interview with Marc Maron, Davis played Guinevere for Crosby. Crosby did not recognize any resemblance between Davis' version and his composition and Davis kicked him out of his house'. And by the way, John McLaughlin comes from Doncaster.  Think on.
