Million Dollar Elder Fraud Scheme & SpaceX Vaporizes Hundreds Starlink Satellites

from Philip Teresi · host KMJ

Hanford residents will finally get a look inside a 50-year-old time capsule on July 9. Buried during the 1976 Bicentennial era and displayed outside the police department ever since, the capsule offers a rare glimpse into what local residents wanted future generations to remember about life in Hanford five decades ago.  A major federal elder-fraud investigation received unexpected help from YouTube creators. According to federal prosecutors, the channels Scammer Payback and Trilogy Media helped investigators identify suspects and understand the structure of a criminal network that allegedly stole about $65 million from elderly Americans. More than 30 defendants have been charged.  SpaceX intentionally destroyed 260 Starlink satellites in the first half of 2026 and plans to dispose of hundreds more as part of its normal fleet-upgrade cycle. While the practice helps prevent space debris, scientists are increasingly concerned about the atmospheric effects of repeatedly incinerating large satellites, and a debate is emerging over whether satellite megaconstellations should face stricter environmental oversight.  Please Like, Comment and Follow 'Philip Teresi on KMJ' on all platforms: ---     Philip Teresi on KMJ is available on the KMJNOW app, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever else you listen to podcasts.  -- Philip Teresi on KMJ Weekdays 2-6 PM Pacific on News/Talk 580 AM & 105.9 FM KMJ  | Website  | Facebook | Instagram | X | Podcast | Amazon | - Everything KMJ KMJNOW App | Podcasts | Facebook | X | Instagram  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
