For our November episode of Mind Yo Business, we invited the 80s hair expert and Bedford native, Joy Dorsey, into the Pritchett Brothers studio for a great conversation! After graduating from Bloomington North, and earning a degree in secretarial arts from Ivy T ech, Joy began her career journey at Ponderosa (anyone remember that place??). She shares how her experience working in a restaurant, combined with her 9 years spent working in collections for Unity Physician Group, gave her the skills needed to respond to customers of all types of temperaments. Joy gives great advice to people who have to respond to angry customers – let them get everything off their chest before you respond with compassion. We hear about how getting laid off from Unity was a positive, how she met her husband through Meineke, and the joys of being a grandma. This conversation travels from rating the Australian Olympic breakdancer to discussing the potential of conquering her fear of water and learning how to swim with her grandson.
