Mind Yo' Business S7:E8 - The Business of Storytelling, Connectivity, and News Media in an Ever-Changing Environment

The Pritchett Brothers' Studio was thrilled to welcome the award-winning faculty member Ron Osgood for the August episode.  Ron - or as the Podcast Master knew him "Professor Osgood" - helped to set the stage for a few milestones on the show.  Ron is the second father-son duo to be interviewed but the first to be on the same season.  Ron is the second Telecommunication and Media faculty member to join the program since Robert Affe in Season 2 and Ron has been such a positive influence in media education that he has taught our fearless producer, Wes Lasher and Kate Miller, our guest from Season 3.   This episode allows Ron to use his amazing storytelling skills to set the stage for his life, including the process of learning about being adopted and whether he can connect with biological parents, his time getting drafted and serving in Vietnam during the War, both learning and self-teaching technology from every generation, starting back in the 60's, to how he ended up with several Emmy Awards for amazing work on multiple documentaries, one of which tells the story of families impacted by the Vietnam War on both sides of the fight.   With grace and humbleness, Ron weaves his life story effortlessly sharing the drama and humor of his days hitchhiking, serving in the Navy, starting a family, teaching students while at sea, and so many other wonderful moments that you'll want to hear more.  Whether needing to redact his son's incorrect information or sharing concerns on whether Witcher could have an interesting story to document, this is an episode that you won't want to end.
