Mind Your Body & Soul: The Healthy Podcast Season 1 Episode 5
Release Date: 09/30/2020
Description: Mind Your Body & Soul: The Healthy Podcast is hosted by Joseph Ward, Mathias Sweet, and Mrs. Alana Steaple. Mind Your Body & Soul is an educational podcast that focuses on all thing’s health related, to help our listeners learn more about various health topics and information they may not have had access to. We seek to inform, empower, uplift and, mobilize our listeners to become the healthiest versions of themselves. In this episode, Joseph Ward interviewed Mr. Shawn Kreuger. Since my birth in Los Angeles County, California in 1988, I have been living with HIV. I have been on ARVs my whole life and have witnessed and experienced the evolution of treatment from AZT to single tablet regimens. Since my family told me of my status, I have been learning about and educating on HIV. Recently I got married to the love of my life, enjoying life together as a magnetic couple, and I now work in public health as an HIV/STD Health Educator. I have experience working as a linkage-to-care coordinator and performing HIV outreach and testing. I not only educate on HIV and STDs, but sexual health in general: everything from dental dams to dildos. I have devoted much of my life to both HIV education and advocacy, doing all I can to promote healthy relationships for people living with HIV: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Outside of my work and my status, I am a spouse, a gamer, and a karaoke enthusiast. Joseph Ward is the Outreach Specialist/Health Educator for the Ryan White Program with Neighborhood Medical Center. Mathias Sweet is the Ryan White Program Director for Neighborhood Medical Center. Visit www.neighborhoodmedicalcenter.orgto learn more about accessing health care.
