You may know of the wild ponies that live on one the natural beaches on the east coast of the USA. It is on the Atlantic Ocean on a sandbar barrier island in Maryland and Virginia. These ponies arrived here 100s of years ago from a ship wreck of horses on their way from Spain to South America.  Amazingly enough, this land was taken as a national park so no one could commercialize the area and it could stay as close as it was to the way it was when the ponies crash landed here.
