Write As Rain Liya Grey This is a podcast for all creative writers. I aim to help get my fellow writers into a creative mindset and a daily habit while sharing my successes and struggles in my journey. There will be creative prompts that I do alongside you because that's how I always used to get into the right headspace to write. I will also review books that have been adapted for the screen. Pope Pius the Tenth Frances Alice Forbes Pope Saint Pius X (2 June 1835 – 20 August 1914), born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, was Pope from 4 August 1903 to his death in 1914. He was the first pope since Pius V (1566 to 1572) to be canonized. St. Pius X is known for vigorously opposing modernist interpretations of Catholic doctrine, promoting traditional devotional practices and orthodox theology. His most important reform was to publish the first Code of Canon Law, which collected the laws of the Church into one volume for the first time. He was also considered a pastoral pope, in the sense of encouraging personal holiness, piety and a daily lifestyle reflecting deep Christian values. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia) Tamba, The Tame Tiger; His Many Adventures by Richard Barnum LibriVox Richard Barnum was the pseudonym adopted by several authors of the Stratemeyer Syndicate when writing the Kneetime Animal Stories for children. In this tale, we meet Tamba, the Tame Tiger and follow his escape from the circus and search for something to eat. Short History of France: From Caesar's Invasion to the Battle of Waterloo, A by Agnes Mary Frances Robinson (1857 - 1944) LibriVox After the Roman conquest, the Celtic Gauls adopted Roman culture and speech. The Germanic invasions ultimately transformed France into a Catholic feudal society. In this short history, Mary Duclaux traces the emergence of towns, the rise of the French monarchy, the calamitous Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. We meet Joan of Arc, Charles VII, the gallant Henry IV, and the Sun King, Louis XIV, who drove France to the brink of bankruptcy. In the second half of the book Duclaux gives us the French Revolution and the Age of Napoleon: Louis XVI, sunk in "plump and smiling apathy," Marie Antoinette, who pleaded with France's enemies for rescue, the Paris mob who hated her, Danton, Saint-Just, Robespierre, and the Terror, and finally a sombre young Corsican officer with no small talk, the military and administrative genius, Napoleon Bonaparte.
