Mini-me. King Mini? Mini? Mouse?

Mini-mouse? Oh, oh, oh. All right, Kimmy, guys. Welcome to a Kingmy Mini Sodom deck at Gagliardii.

I'm Rob Avon. Wow, that's great. Why are we here, Rob? Usually we don't come here unless we got business to tend to do that.

That's right, and there's a bit of business. Okay. So it was past week, the trailer for it, 2017's it. Oh, it dropped.

Oh, guess. Have you watched it? I have watched it. I've watched it like two or three times now.

Have you watched it? Not even once. Yeah, so why? So we're gonna play it on, you know, Danny's a little lappy.

Yeah. And we're gonna get to your reactions in real time. Okay, here we go. Am I good?

Scared? Is it scarier? They're jumps? It's a scary.

Oh boy, I hate it. And it's going right into my ears. That's too scary. Is this Georgie?

Oh, no. Oh, Georgie. Oh, no. Oh, no.

Georgie, you're so fucked, you idiot. Yeah. Oh, wow. This is like, it's very similar.

Yeah, but like better. Yeah, it's the same, but better. Oh, fucking Georgie. You got a little bonk on the head.

Georgie ran into a barrier. He hit a roadblock. He's about to hit a sewer storm drain block. Oh, God.

Here he comes. He's in the, oh, man. This is gonna be good. From Stephen King's terrifying novel.

Yes. Derry. I'm gonna go higher. This is the nearest one.

And that's just going to be the hell is Patricia Hockstetter. Oh, man. Fat kid sees a balloon. Oh, he loves balloons.

Oh, this is gonna be way too scary. Kids are in the tunnels. Yo, fuck, stranger things. This is my shit.

I mean that. What stranger things bring into the table? He's such a good time. I wish he wouldn't have said it like it was the name of the thing.

Wait, oh my God. It's gonna start showing up with the projections. That's so much better than the photo album. Yeah.

This is very good. And you watch it. The hair moving. Dude.

Oh, man. Oh, the claw. Oh, dude. What?

What's all those hands? What are the hands? This part. No.

Oh, Jesus Christ. This is gonna be so good. Oh my God. Oh, my God.

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I can't believe it.

Is that it? Yeah. That's the movie it. Dude.

Right? That's oh my God. Okay. So like it does some great, great things.

Let's talk about them. Well, number one, it scared me. It scared me. Yeah.

Like the sped up running. Yeah. Yeah. So oh, man.

So that kid playing Georgie demon Georgie. Yeah. Oh, what a. Yo, fuck stranger things.

This is my shit. It's not an either or but I'm making it one and I'm picking this. So all right. This the trailer looks really good.

Which is weird because it's going into this year, right? We have two King movies, big ones at least. Yeah. We have it and dark tower and I just assumed that the dark tower would be like the big like sort of like the hype machine.

Yeah, like that was gonna be the one and it's gonna be amazing. Yeah. But it's been played with problems. They push in the release date back like it's all kinds of shit and then they drop this trailer and I'm like, holy shit, this is like it looks it looks great.

Like it's shot really nicely. They're not overdoing it seemingly with the special effects. Like they're sticking to sort of like what people like about the first one, which is like, you know, until he turns into a giant spider at the end. Right.

There's like, it's just eerie. It's like very there's something horrible lurking under the surface. Now I like, I kind of like all the hands pushing out of that door. There's a shot where there's like a door like trying to burst open.

It's like lock shot and you just see a bunch of like blackish brownish like dead looking hands. Yeah. I don't know what that's about and I don't know if I like it. I can't decide.

I don't know. I don't know what it is but it looks scary. I'm into it. I'm into it.

I don't. It's going to be actually scary. I showed Dana. Yeah.

The trailer and she was like, I'm not going to see that. I like, I'd really don't do well with horror movies. I realized who I am and where I'm sitting. Yeah.

But I don't like modern horror movies I really struggle with because they scare the little pants off of me. I don't do well with jump scares. But I'm fucking I'm kind of excited. I thought I was going to hate this Pennywise.

Yep. I don't. Not yet. Yeah, at least the use of Pennywise in this trailer is kind of perfect.

It's great. It's quick glances. He doesn't talk, which I think may be a problem in the actual movie. Sure.

Because you just got a certain idea of what it should be. Oh boy, Georgie. Yeah. But also, what was I going to say?

Shit. Shit. Fuck. I love the slide.

I think that's so great. It's basically instead of the scene in the miniseries where they're looking through the photo album and what the pictures come to life. Yeah. They're looking at slides on a slide projector and it just kind of starts doing its own thing and moving really rapidly.

And the woman in a picture, his face is obscured by your red hair. Yeah. Turns out to be the Ed Monster. That's why I didn't like that the kid goes.

That's where it lives. Yeah. Yeah. But other than that, I have no complaints.

Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

I'm excited. It doesn't. So like, usually in a trailer where like, I shouldn't say usually, but in a trailer where there's like a lot of good moments that usually means they use them all up. They burn them all up on the trailer.

That's right. Yes. But all the moments in this are not like big. They're not big moments.

Right. So I think it's just going to be good. Also, it's interesting to having seen the original movie fairly recently to see like the similar shots and then some of like, there's a side by side comparison online, which I saw a little bit of. I heard this.

I held this closure. I watched it. I have to maintain my journalistic integrity. Please.

We hear a King me follow a straight code of ethics. Right. Which doesn't extend to the kinds of jokes we make. So yeah.

But yeah, I don't know. Looks like a good. I'm on board. I'm all in on it.

And fuck me, we are going to get so many Stephen King movies. I know. I was thinking the other day about that Hulu show that I have an update. Somewhat of an update.

But you go first. I was just going to say I was dreading it. You're dreading it. It's just more work.

Yeah. Well, yeah. Knowing that we have a Hulu show. But these, if this movie is good, like they're just going to fucking run with it.

Same thing with like dark tower. If it does anything at all, they're just going to run with the Stephen King books. Especially especially dark tower because it's like a big budget like shoot them up. It's very actiony, which studios.

Right. Huge budget, big world kind of building thing. And I am production problems aside. I don't think I'm super surprised that this seems like it's more popular out of the gate before it gets out of the gate.

Dark tower. Yeah. Because like this, you know. It has a cultural, like everyone knows this character even if they've never seen the movie.

I've been talked about it on the episode. Like I think a lot of people's fears of clowns comes from this. Yes. Yeah.

Yes. Because I'm on record is saying I think clown fear is mostly bullshit. This is like this is scare clown. I'll say that as a scar.

It was a very stir clown. But also, yeah, no, I mean, like the I think anyone who's roughly my age or slightly older remembers going to blockbuster and just seeing this cover, the cover of the original one. And imagine seeing the new one in a blockbuster. Oh my goodness.

What are you doing in a black? Talk about viral marketing. But yeah, it's like it makes an impact before you even see it. And I'm hopeful.

I think it's going to be good. It reminds me the look of it reminded me of Super 8 a little bit. Yeah. Just like something about the quality of the picture reminded me of it.

That's just a straight note. That's not even a dig or anything. No, but I mean, that's what people are trying to do. Like they've been trying to make this even Spielberg like 80s thing happen again.

Yeah. Super 8 is just like it's a very Spielberg movie. It's a very rudimentary attempt at what would end up being stranger things. Right.

And like I don't know. Super 8 when I saw it I was like, this is fine. It's fine. Yeah, there's I don't.

That's got like an it element, right? Because they just snatch the kids up and like suspend them. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. And it's like I don't think it's a great movie or anything. I think a lot of people are down on it. Yeah, you're just trying to do Steven Spielberg's shit and whatever.

I'm like, I don't know. It's fine. Yeah, no, it's not a bad movie. No, but yeah.

And I know you hate Stranger Things now. You've gone on record as saying you hate everything about it. I mean, there's nothing to do with the upside down. That's pretty mind blowing.

If you think about it, it's really cool. Go on. Stranger Things was so fucking big that they're not going to and they, you know, they did the thing that they were trying to do with Super 8 where they were like, we're going to make kids sorry, but it's going to be like kind of grown up. That's what this looks like.

It's going to be like fucking hardcore. Do you think they're, I kind of hope they don't do the thing that they do in the mini series where they involve the adult versions of the kids? I think this one is just the kids. I think it's only two parts.

Oh, they're part two? That's a much better way of making this. I think. But I'm pretty sure that's what I heard was that they were going to do it in two parts and this is just the kid's story.

That is like, that is smart from so many angles. Yeah. Yeah, it just makes perfect sense. Like storytelling wise, I think it's going to be better and because then you don't have to flash back to things.

You just know going into it. Yeah. You can allude to things without cutting away from the action. That's better.

And also what's hotter right now than a bunch of little kids trying to stop a big monster. Yeah. Nothing. So there is, it's fire.

It's lit fam. This movie is bad. Yeah. So I'm excited.

Yeah, me too. Get out was pretty good too. Oh, you saw it? Yeah, I saw it.

Oh. So until next time, I'm dang it. I want to mention it, but I know this is a mini set. So it probably shouldn't go too long.

Oh, and just real quick, I was listening to podcast Fat Man on Batman with Kevin Smith and Mark Bernard and Batman. And Batman was a writer he was a film critic for the Ellie Times. And he recently left that job and he's working on Castle Rock for Who It? Cool.

And he didn't give like too much information, but all he said was that the show takes place in Castle Rock and these characters exist within the same universe. So this is good for us. I have a shitty ink smirk on my face. So I really lend some credence to the unified King theory.

Right. So more to come. That was literally all he said about it. So I'm sticking to my sort of X-Files theory.

I think it's going to be about detectives. Yeah. Right. Yeah.

Or maybe it'll be like the Marvel Civil War where it's it versus Kathy Bates. Yeah. Like Danny Torrance could interact with like, I don't know, an Andy DuFrain. Ooh.

Or I'm blanking on his name. The Andre Lenoge. Oh, yeah. Bring that guy back.

Yeah, he was a scary guy. I liked him. I hated when he turned into an old wizard, but other than that, I liked that we went Gandalf. Yeah.

But yeah, so let's pack it in. Let's please. Yeah. That's the next full episode.

Yeah. Whatever that is. Yeah. Bye.

See you next time. Okay. Okay. Bye.

Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.

Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.

Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.

Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.

Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
