Mini, music Monday, Wisconsin edition. Hello Adele, two L Adele, double L Adele, two E's. People need to know. That's me's.

Double L, not one. Thank you. I don't think you've ever really kind of... I'm putting my fist down.

Yeah, now. Yep, I've had enough. Yeah, we've been together plus decade plus now, so you're like, I've noticed that a lot of people misspell my wife's name. This is disrespectful.

I'm standing up for you. Wow. Yes. Did I say anything about this?

I don't know, I'm feeling strong. Oh, I'll say, I don't recall saying anything about this, but you're having feelings about it. It's been 10 years of this nonsense. Well, there is, you know, there's more than one way to spell Adele.

Two L's? And two E's. That's right. Because the singer Adele, not me, she's A-D-E-L-E.

And I think that is a more common use spelling, but it doesn't mean you can't learn mine. It's just A-D-E-L-L-E. I think it's better. It has a real nice ring to it.

It sounds more like Adele. The other one looks more like a French like Adele. You know, it doesn't really have the impact of two L's. I've heard really goofy.

Before Adele, the singer came along. People, you would think it wasn't that hard to say. Sorry, I'm commencing. Okay.

There's all of this. I'll be quiet now. Adele's two L's will be quiet. Go.

You're two into it. We're not into you. Not a part of our chain. Needy and alarm clip.

That's supposed to be something. We're not asking you back. Admission. You're two into it.

We're not into you. Not a part of our chain. Needy and alarm clip. Acceptance.

That was Acceptance by Mac Lynch. Ah, I like this. So we came up with an idea for you to do some covers today by Wisconsin bands. Yeah.

That's so fun. Yeah, that band was from Madison, Wisconsin. Nice. Mac Dementia.

Did you say that they were produced by Butch Vague? Yes. Of Verroqua, Wisconsin. Yeah.

Producer of Nirvana. Member of garbage. Nice. Yeah.

Butch. You know what Mac Dementia means? No, what? Mechanical man.

No way. Yeah. Oh. That's cool.

I just found that out today. Maybe you should always cover that before you play mechanical man on your tour. I have one thing to say about it though. What?

Those aren't the lyrics were on the record. They sound totally garbled. I know the chorus. Did you just make that up?

I made it up. I made it up. Our acceptance or? So this was not when was this band from?

1983. Oh, did you know of them? Oh, yeah. Oh, OK.

No, I bought the 7-inch. I was a kid. I bought the 7-inch in 1983. From like a catalog?

Yep. I loved it. I was obsessed with this band. Do you still have it?

Yes. Of course. I don't know. It's worth $300.

Nice. Yeah. Great. Who else is going to interrupt to us today before I get too comfortable in this chair?

Well, the next song, I'm a little afraid of playing this next song for you. Why? It's pretty intense. All the bands that I could find that I know that from Wisconsin are kind of like intense.

Like they were politically incorrect. Oh, interesting. OK. Yep.

Sort of this 80s, early 90s thing. Well, there's got to be someone from Wisconsin who's not. Well, I didn't have time to find anything about that. I just did the stuff that I like off the top of my head.

Oh, OK. Because we came up with this idea today. Well, what's politically incorrect about the frogs? Yeah, I don't know them.

Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. I chose the song.

It's the least. Offensive? Yeah. This is the least.

I mean, they have other songs that are probably the least offensive of the ones I know. Oh, yeah. Well, we don't have to play them. I'm going to play it.

Oh, it's going to happen. OK. I did it. Oh, it's done.

Got it. Yeah. Song commencing. Is this it?

Yes. OK. I've done drugs that will blow your mind tonight. Real fine tonight.

Blow your mind tonight. Out of my mind tonight. Going out of my mind tonight. Out of my mind tonight.

Blow your mind tonight. Would you like to come along? Where you going, man? Can I come wherever it is, man?

Out of your dope. Out of your dope, man. Out of your mist. There's a pimp.

Out of the mist. There's a gutter. Out of the mist. There's a priest.

How could I miss you with your drugs? Out of the mist. How could I miss you with your drugy ways? You missed.

I kissed your lovely, drug-filled lips. You sleazy prostitute. Where's your pimp friend? Where's your pimp friend?

And you stood there and lectured me. I'm the priest with the yeast infection. I'm the priest with the yeast infection. Drug problem that never existed.

I'm the mist. I kissed your drug-filled lips. What a song. You didn't react poorly.

Well, I was, I mean, I'd never heard it before, so I didn't know what to expect line by line, you know? The original was really funny. It's really off the cuff. I mean, it's kind of a cool song.

I mean, at least I can surely point out a few obvious, like, issues in their sleazy prostitute. I actually edited it. I actually did a soft version of it. Oh.

It was supposed to say fucking priest with the yeast infection. Well, that was, I don't think I've ever heard yeast infection in a song before. Huh. That's a bold move, interesting to put a melody to yeast infection.

Here are brothers from Milwaukee. OK. Well, first off, I would just like to say I myself, and I mean, I don't want to speak for you, but I at least don't feel prostitutes are sleazy at all. I think that sex work is work, and damn it, it should be, they should be protected and legalized.

So that's my two cents on that. There we go. How do you feel about that? Legal prostitution?

Yeah. Sure. Yeah, right. Yeah.

So fuck that sleazy shit. They're they're rad. Do their thing. OK, so what's with these brothers?

What's with them? One of them died recently. OK. There's a tall one and a short one.

OK. I feel a little on the spot, so I don't want to start rattling off their names. Oh. There was Jimmy.

Is it a secret? I mean, no. Oh, so obviously they have names. No, one of them actually was a member of the Smashing Pumpkins for a little.

Really? Yeah. OK. So are they no more?

Well, obviously, one's dead or is that what you said? I think Evendando went out and played, stood in for the brother who played drums who played in the Smashing Pumpkins. He stood in for him. And they did the frogs.

Evendando was an avid fan of the frogs. Oh, interesting. OK. So they had their moment.

They had a big moment. Did they? Mostly men, I would say. Are they canceled or no?

Is this a key? No, they were pre-cancelable. Pre-cancelable. OK.

Yeah. Just problematic. They're problematic. But everyone, we thought they were really funny.

We circulated their cassettes through the indie community in the 1990s. Yeah. And I feel like there was kind of a lot of songs and stuff, like in the 90s that were, I mean, of course, my god, now, a lot of it does sound, you know, you're like, whoa. That sounds, again, problematic.

Things don't age well, of course. Thank god. Thank god we change and we grow. Thank goodness.

Yeah, there was a lot. The Midwest was a hotbed for politically incorrect post-punk. Post-hard core music. You're going to do another one.

You better do it now. OK. If you're going to do another one, you better do it now. Do the other one now.

Going to the beach today. Me and my mom and dad is the best day I've ever had. I hope this day now. We're going to roast hot dog.

We're going to the lake. Mom made some chocolate cake. We brought along a volleyball. We'll have fun one and all.

We're going on a picnic today. This is the best day I've ever had. Just me, just me and mom and dad. I make a lot of new friends.

I hope this day never ends. We're driving. We don't have to go. We're going to mom made some chocolate cake.

We're bringing along the dog roast hot dog on a beach ball. Lots of fun one and all. Going on a picnic today. Yeah.

That's cute. And I was not. What band is that? Killdozer from Madison, Wisconsin.

This is all bands from a certain area. Madison, Milwaukee. What happened to the Western side of the state? What's from there?

Don't know. I wonder where the violent fence. Well, you're grandma. I like grandma.

Where were the violent fence from? What part of Wisconsin? Milwaukee. Of course.

OK. OK. Well. Yeah, I didn't even think about them.

Right? Yeah. I've got enough attention. No kidding.

We don't need to cover the violent fence today. I'd like to say something quickly about Killdozer. OK. When Dinosaur Junior, when we were Dinosaur, we played in Madison.

And nobody was at the show except for Killdozer. And they played a special set opening for us. They weren't meant to be opening for us or playing a show. And actually, we could have been opening for them.

We knew them. We loved them. But they came to the show. Cute.

And they opened for us. And it was like one of the coolest moments ever. Wow. It was like we had to sort of experience being accepted by Sonic Youth.

But boy, when Killdozer opened for us at OK's Corral in Madison, Wisconsin in 1980s. Six. That was like amazing. And they were so fucking nice.

And they made this kind of really dark music. It's really good. But they were actually very funny. They did very, very funny dark covers of American Pie.

Oh, funny. I'm not Lisa. It was like they were so fucking nice. That's one of my favorite memories.

That was where I felt like something cool was happening. Killdozer did an impromptu opening set for Dinosaur Junior. OK. OK.

That concludes Ra Impressions, Many Music Monday, Musical tribute to the musical artists of America's Dairyland, Wisconsin.
