Get started at acast.com slash advertise. Welcome to Monday's Any Music episode from Real Impression. Mm. Mm.

Out of vision. Yeah. Out of vision. I got to make that raw impressions really long.

Mm-hmm. That, the length of that intro, it doesn't match my energy level. Like that felt slow and long. I'm trying to pull you down into the...

Yeah. That's probably a good idea. I'm a little wound up right now. Pretty amped.

I am a little amped. I need to get a little more zen. Let's static going on. Fuck.

Yeah. There is in my brain, in my body, in my innards. Static. How are you, dear?

I'm okay. Great. I'm pretty good. Yeah.

Do you want to come clean about the last episode and your level of... Are you speaking of raw impressions episode number eight? Yes. Well, we talked twice.

We did. We talked for about an hour in the morning and then we decided to talk again. And in between those two discussions, I had an edible. A little lemon gummy.

Mm-hmm. Weak. It was weak. It had a low THC content because I can't handle my THC that well.

Okay. So, because I'm being older. Sure. So, I didn't think it was going to affect me and I did not actually notify you that I even had gummies.

Right. So, yeah. So, we did it and I'm pretty amped in that one. Yes.

And kind of confrontational. And I didn't really realize it until I was editing the episode. And then I was like, wow, I sound like such a dick. Like I really felt it and I'm like, oh my God.

It's because I had an edible. I've never heard myself speaking high for that long. I've never actually examined a conversation that I was having from the outside perspective when I'm high. And I was like, whoa, it kind of like set off a lot of realizations in my brain about why people kind of think or they thought back in the day.

Oh, that's a perfect time for a break. This is the tuning of the song. Oh, okay. I thought I would offer that up to anyone who wanted to play it at home.

On a four string guitar. I'd say. You know, you got lying around. They searched it.

There's no way. Get to you. Well, every other channel is fighting for your customer's attention. Podcasts are where they've already given it.

No one accidentally listens to a podcast for 45 minutes. They choose to be here. They trust the voice in their ears. And when that voice talks about your brand, it doesn't sound like advertising.

It sounds like a recommendation from a friend. 8Cast gives you that trust at scale. Digital precision, post-read authenticity, and performance data that proves it worked. Don't fight for attention.

Meant. Did you notice how I didn't say wow? Were you thinking about that? I was like, I really want to say wow.

But I didn't. I like it when you say wow. Wow. Well, I just was feeling like that I overwowed.

It's hard to scrutinize the way you speak. It's so hard. It's hard. A podcast really, like you were saying, you were analyzing yourself or you were hearing yourself maybe in a new way because of the podcast.

Oh, yeah. I'm loud in my head right in the middle of my brain. Every nuance of what I was saying and how I was saying it. Yeah.

And you don't get that opportunity really to go back and hear what you said in a conversation, right? No. I mean, typical life, you don't get that opportunity. No, well, people actually, I mean, think about how when you hear your first, the first time you hear your voice recorded, I think you're either like, hey, that's cool or I never want to hear that again.

Yeah. Really, like hearing your voice can be very shocking and very, very uncomfortable for people. Oh, totally. And I mean, I got very used to the sound of my voice and I'm very, you know, that's my, it's my thing.

I like your voice over the radio over, I like it. I like my voice too. I like talking, talking to Lisa. I enjoy singing and I enjoy talking.

Yep. And I enjoy listening. I need to listen more. Yeah.

I also listen people. I don't know. But even though that's the other thing is I'm examining these conversations and I'm thinking, when I talk over you, I'm like, I'm not listening at that moment. So it's been funny.

But anyway, that song I wrote this week. Yes. That's cool. Yeah.

On the notorious episode number eight, aggression eight. Yeah, aggression eight. I have like, it's sort of, there's an instrumental of the song kind of floating around. Yes.

Oh, that's what it is. I didn't know if that was what that was from. I'm like, where is that from? This sounds familiar.

It actually reminded me and I was trying so hard to put my finger on it. I'm like, this is reminding me of a song from reason to live. Yeah. But which song?

I don't know. I think I'm ripping myself off. I'm ripping myself off. I'm ripping myself off.

I'm creating heavily in the song. I think so. I think so. I think so.

I think so. But you know, the purpose of this, the purpose is like every week I'm going to try to come up with a new song and just go and not think about it too much. Like usually what I would do is I'd be like, that sounds familiar and then I would actually go through and listen to other things before I proceeded with this song. But this time I'm thinking, I don't really have time to do that and I don't want to do it.

I want this to be extremely immediate and reflecting the week in a way. I just want to be as be as sort of impetuous and impulsive as possible with it. Yeah, and maybe less like critical, right? Just like I'm going with it.

Yeah. I don't think about those things. Not that I'm going by any stretch. But when he comes up, when he sings a song, he's like, hey, I thought of it.

It's great. I mean, I've seen him, I've listened, I've read interviews where he says a similar thing. He's not a huge editor, I think, right? Of his stuff.

He's pretty openly admitted. That's a lot of time. That's cool. He really holds and crafts his craft.

He crafts his craft. Yeah. He crafts. I craft too.

You craft. Song. I'm dancing in five notes. Who are your royalty?

Who are you trying to please? Who will you follow tonight? I know that you get planned on for respect. There when us just met off with you, go play the room.

Kind of frank and stime pieces of people, you know. I'm not like that. Rearrange who's around now to change. How to be perfectly cool.

Well, I've seen you bend the shape, turn on me. I can wait. Soon we'll be here all along. And slowly you'd be a peer.

And up tonight I fear you found a new you'd be. Someone left them like me. Don't let me pick a fight. Let me say goodnight and go home.

I'm enraged. You all can. I'll see you again. Be again because your name lied to fire.

I'll play burning what good things we've had. Making me nothing but sad. It's not me. I always am betrayed in your way.

I'm your way. And I know what you do when you find your key thing. But I understand true. I had to look away while I was playing.

I did too. I looked out the window at the falling snow. I listened to that song. I looked at the floor.

That was for Finn Bar only. Let's say this was by request. Yes, for Finn Bar, Omahoney. A wonderful fan.

Really, really nice supporter. He supports the Barlow Family General Store. The Barlow Family General Store. Where he's a bladed items.

He supports Lou in concert. He's sent a book. He sent a book. That was a thank you Finn Bar.

He wanted to hear that song. That was so nice of him to do that. I didn't know what it was. I saw it was an international package.

I opened it up and read the card from him. It was really touching. It was a really nice surprise. I get it.

That's really cool. This week, Lou, are you on edibles right now? You seem really nice. You were going to do the podcast in the morning.

I've been working on music so much. I think my real THC works for me in a musical sense. It helps me focus. You don't do it.

Lou does not do THC socially. I don't. I stopped. Mini music.

It's over. It's over. In 10, an individual. I guess we'll talk about that later.

See ya. We have to continue. You're so cool. Bye.

Bye. Bye. Bye. Monday, Mini music.
