Welcome to mini music Monday courtesy of our impressions Welcome Lou and Adele Barlow ticket away Adele Good morning. Good morning world. Hello life. Hello Adele Hello from Atlanta That was a kiss for you blow me a kiss in the wind From Massachusetts to Georgia here comes.
Yeah comes the kiss All the way down Northeast to South ish Ish South ish East Georgia in South ish it's south. Okay, very so proudly so from the north to the south The winds they are a blowing. I don't know if they're blowing but boy the wind blew last night Lou Barlow Greenfield the city of Greenfield is a windy place Yeah Windy little cove we live in a city turns out. It's a city and Yeah, it has more people than I thought where are they I mean I guess around it's a pretty small city if you come to Greenfield You'll know what we're saying, but come to Greenfield come to Greenfield According to Wikipedia.
It's a city now. So so they're Adele Congratulations, okay, I'm not you know, that's as deep as I'm gonna go in my fact checking I might do a little Wikipedia dive song turns out greenfield is missing Okay, and for whistles They call me mad Jack and if there's anybody who knows the real story of John Adams that'd be me So I'm putting it down and writing just the way it happened and hopes of setting the record straight See my friend Adams was accused of a crime. He didn't commit so he escaped into the mountains leaving behind the only life He ever knew now the wilderness out there ain't no place for a green lord and his chances of surviving were mighty slim Weren't no time at all before he was beaten down ragged and nearly starved long about then he came upon a grizzly bear cub all alone and helpless Now Adams knew that little critter couldn't survive without his help so he started right down that cliff risking his own life to save it Now that cub took to Adams right off and that was when he discovered that he had a special kind of way with animals They'd just come up to him like he was a natural part of the wilderness of that bear club cub He was extra special as he growed he became the best friend Adams ever had and together they became a legend Maybe there's a world where we don't have to run and maybe There's a time we'll call on living free and harmony and match the take me home Deep inside the forest there's a door into another land here is our life and home We are staying here forever in the beauty of this place all alone We keep hoping Maybe there's a world where we don't have to run and maybe there's a time we'll call on living free and harmony and Not stay take me home Walking through the land where we're living things beautiful Why does it have to end? We are calling off the salary on the wisp of the wind as we send a dying message There's a world where we don't have to run and maybe there's a time we'll cop on living free and harmony on ecstasy Take me home Take me home Another grand surprise for me surprise Oh my gosh, so my first crush crush possibly Uh-huh That show is wrapped up In so much fantasy for me.
I love I mean it is a true story. It's a true story It's a loose interpretation obviously embellished. He had a bear I don't think that would really happening. I think I think that he actually did hang out with a bear You hung out with a bear John Adams.
I think so. I think he actually hung out with a bear How much can you really hang out with a bear? I mean maybe there was like a bear that sort of tolerated him in the woods where he escaped to John Adams was tolerated Grisly bear I think they hung out I think that they uh, I don't know they shared some flapjacks together Snuggled under the lean to you can train a bear. Maybe maybe John Adams just whipped Whipped by gosh.
Hey pulled out his teeth one by one Terrible I don't know I'm using their animals back then Yeah, he had a special way with that. Yeah a special way of hurting the animal Completely submissive to dominate plop It's terrible. I mean, okay, so let's think that they were they were not that they were living friendly and in harmony Yes, but they were not it wasn't some they were cohabitating Well Loosely I can say it's great cuz I've I have forced I have forced my family to watch it in the in recent years So when Adele and I first began living together one of the first things I did for her birthday was purchase a double DVD Set of the entire grizzly Adam series, which only contains two seasons two seasons I can say the first season is is okay the second season It's fine first season is a plus a plus Chef's kiss not perfection Fantasy perfection somehow they lost they kind of lost the plot in the second season They really lost the thread as they say in season two Yeah, and you know, and then they were like we got to pull the plug wisely so wisely so because Dan Hagerty also looked like he made some choices between like season one and season two Maybe he celebrated the success of gris adds a little too much He was kind of red and bloated and maybe he was like yeah kind of the cocaine the biker bars too much cocaine waxy kind of look He could almost see like a gold chain underneath his is a wilderness. I know which I liked I was like, oh look at that.
He's got this just ridiculous necklace on this doesn't make any sense. Yeah season two was like totally unhinged It made no sense Season one was like a real faithful like yes, he's in the woods. It's a bear. It's a lean to it's like strictly woods shit And then season two yeah, he had like a gold chain on there could have been like a motorcycle He's cabin he was like bursting out of his little outfit.
It was rough It was pretty rough and I don't even know I can't even like remember half of the storylines because they were so forgettable in season two And so there was one there was one storyline that I remember and we would watch this with the kids and It was our nightly ritual. We watched like an episode of this every night. I know a long episode Well, you and Hendrix fell asleep on it and Hannah Lauren. I watched it, but yeah, it put me to sleep So I watched it it's kind of murky.
It's a murky kind of there's a lull to it is it just kind of lulls you to sleep with Obviously have different opinions on it, but in the second season There was an episode where Ben the bear was commanded commanded by an Indian tribe to stand in the middle of a circle Just a circle like there was like a circle in the circle rocks like a circle of rocks on the ground. He was on trial for stealing a fish Yes, and the bear eating a fish the bear the bear I mean, you know Fural bear even if you had a connection with with rizads. He was still a fucking bear He stood in the middle of that circle of rocks all night long All night long he was told to he was told to it was actually bear jail. I don't see this episode.
No, we're talking about go find it He was literally there like you're in jail now Ben and he's like, okay, the bear just wandered over to the rock circle Do it if we stood there and I have to say that was like the one time that like you and Hendrix and like all the kids We were like just claiming how ridiculous this was it was truly was like hysteria We're like this is not possible the bear would never just stand in the circle the term is they jumped asleep for that one They jumped the shark with that one. Do you know what you know where a jump the shark comes from? Happy days. Oh, no, I do Happy days gone to some ridiculous lengths to maintain its audience That Fonzie was jumping a shark in a pool with his motorcycle.
Oh, my god. That's amazing. I have to see that episode That sounds great to part two part You know like part one and where's part one and can you imagine just as he's like off the ramp? You know, he's soaring over the sewering over the sewering over the over the shark in the pool Of course, you know, it's a little in 1958 whatever.
I don't know sure. That's amazing. I love it Well, I yeah, it was like that song at the beginning of Grizzly Adams it is it's like John Denver esque, right? Yes, a full-on fucking rip off although I listen to it a little closer.
It's not quite it's it's a little funky Actually, there's some funky instrumentation in there. It's not quite a straight strummer It's a it's got some burbling in there Tom Pace was the name of the composer and the performer of that tune And I found that single in Germany and I have it upstairs in the attic. So I'm gonna send you up to the attic So you can go find that single Oh, really? Yeah, you're going right into the blazing hot stifling hot attic to find that single.
It's in a box You can find it. Oh my gosh. Has anyone seen pictures or videos yet of our attic? Chaos did you know the Grizzly Adams this was something I really liked when I first started going to Europe and going to going to Germany on tour Yes, you do.
Grizzly Adams was on TV there. Oh German voices are not so they're not into sometimes in Germany. It's great. It's just all like German What he called his voice over right over the top right and right right her was also and and This got a look into this show BJ in the BJ in the bear That was that was a CB themed trucker themed TV show.
Okay, that sounds up my alley. Yeah, it's not a bear The there's BJ is driver. I don't look it up. I didn't do any research But you can look into that BJ in the bear was kind of like a handsome guy with kind of curly dark hair who drove a truck and Maybe the bear was a monkey or something.
I don't know it was a guy and his his animal friend on the road named bear I guess although bears were meant to part as a term as a CB term for police that concludes mini music I could yep about this all day sing us out, Daley. Oh, yeah Maybe There's a world where we don't have to run and maybe There's a time we'll cop on living free and comedy and match the Take me home Take me home. Take me home. Take me home Take me home
