Davenport at the raccoon motel Yes, we pulled into the raccoon motel after about three hour drive from Verroqua, Wisconsin today and I have to say I had built up this image in my mind of what I thought the raccoon motel would look like and be like and This is the problem with television What's that? Well, you watch it and then you get these crazy ideas, so we watched that this would be sort of a Rural hotel well we watch Schitt's Creek, you know cuz you got to watch that show and it was real good But then the problem is it's like ruined me for motels because now I just think like all motels I've decided I like that motel with these sweet funny people who've kind of landed in this motel are taking it up and now own it and But I just assumed oh some young hipsters took some funny funky motels some abandoned motel in Davenport, Iowa Cleaned it up called at the raccoon motel and maybe had bands in like the lounge and this was this whole thing I just no one gave me this information There was no reason for me to do this other than just I came up with this fantasy, but it's converted like warehouse It's absolutely nothing like my fantasy next to the Mississippi River Yeah, it's just like a big building and it's not a motel at all It's just a club called the raccoon motel and we're in an Airbnb above it, but it's it's not a motel anyway Why does anyone else do that where you've watched a show or a movie? I can tell you that the Schitt's Creek never changed my idea of a motel really yeah, that's interesting So I just kind of like I leapt on this motel fantasy and I don't tell it can be anything and they can be very very scary Yeah, that's true lucky if it's Schitt's Creek. I know well, that's the problem like I said now I'm convinced everything is like that, but I'm you know what I think about it.
What I think of the time It's seven. I was looking for a room after playing Lala Palooza Shit, okay, and we went to a motel Uh-huh they had a room so we went to the to the back area where it was there was a literally a burned-out car Sitting in front of the room that we were to inspect and was actually no We had to go up some stairs and as we were walking the balcony or it was actually bending as we were stepping Oh, we opened the door there were roaches covering the walls. Oh, so we left. Oh God so between Schitt's Creek.
That's sort of idealized. That's cute. It was really cute. You know like a privately owned Mm-hmm, you know curated hotel to Motel yeah, it's true because in most like movies the motel is kind of where bad shit happens right now scary movies And actually I've had that experience a lot yeah hotels in Florida on tour Back when we get one room everybody's just pile in the room.
Oh man. That's dark pretty random stuff Yeah, that's true because it's kind of like if you're going to a motel There's like a desperation, you know like I feel like you either are doing something naughty So I think actually in a way maybe like movies and things have ruined it for me I mean besides my own experiences, but also motel has become very yeah, it's sort of the scene of many crimes. It's just crime Yeah, you think crime you think like yeah, you're going there It's like yeah, but I mean like you're you need this out You need a place to hunker down to do something bad. It's nice that Schitt's Creek actually changed that a little bit for you I it is well I think it's kind of like I'm quick to jump on that fantasy because I've had like a long running fantasy of like taking cabins and Things like that and converting them and making them like insanely cute and being very picky about what I put in them Do you like themed cabins?
Yes, I've I used to go when I lived in LA I go to Big Bear and idle wild just for like little weekend trips and stuff and they would have these cabin companies I still get emails from Big Bear cool cabins and they have like a little management building and then they have like a plot of land in the woods with all these like little individual cabins that have their own names and their own little patio and I love doing that kind of stuff, but I love decorating them in my mind Yeah And so I have this sort of like long fantasy of like sitting in the manager's office and like perfecting my management office And then having all my different themed rooms and yeah, nope the raccoon motel is nothing like that Nothing like that at all. I think I was like an interior decorator in another life before I play my song Yes for this week. Mm-hmm. Can I say that I found out the Mississippi River which we are right next to right now by the way We're like a block like right next to it or a block away from the mighty Mississippi the old miss I found out today when I would compete it to just confirm Where where the Mississippi was in the top ten of longest rivers?
I found out that the Mississippi River is not even the longest river in North America Which I thought was a totally the case, but it's not the longest river in North America is the Missouri Which is news to me. Where is the Missouri River? It runs into the Mississippi. Where does it begin?
I don't really know gosh We have to do some research. No, I've just begun my research This is like finding out there's a new planet, but that the new planet is like somewhere between Mars and Saturn I mean this is like what the heck how could this information be true? I thought the Mississippi was the old miss the names it would appear according to Wikipedia or whatever the list was that I looked at That the Missouri River is a full 20 to 30 20 to 40 miles longer than the Mississippi Huh? I wonder if they dump near the same area into the ocean or where the Missouri runs into the Mississippi Like in the middle of the Mississippi it runs into it But it begins somewhere like who knows where well wait, but so when you say it runs into it Does it then join the Mississippi?
Oh, also then yeah, why don't they just call it the Missouri then? Yeah? Yeah, how come how come it's actually both for a while? No, it's not both once the Missouri runs into the Mississippi.
