Welcome to Raw Impressions Monday's Music Mini episode. Check out, check these out baby. Oh my god. Take a look.
I thought you were going to say tickle. Tickle these baby. Lou is sitting across from me with no shirt on and he's, well I'll be honest he's pressing his nipples and his breasts. 56 years hot.
Almost, almost 57 one more month. Oh my gosh. One more month of 56 with those 57 varieties of hot. 57.
I don't know what but 50. I'm so tired all of a sudden. You're just staring at my belly. Look up.
Look into my eyes. This is where the energy looks. Oh yeah. Like a woman.
Look in the eyes. Not down here. Come on. Eyes off the tits.
Thank you. I know this appendectomy scars. Well I'm just sort of examining your chest now while I'm looking at it. Okay.
Well that's not. You chose to be here topless. It's hot in here. It is.
This room does not have any kind of climate control. No it doesn't. It gets so uh, musty in here. Manly.
That's what you want to call it. My man must. It gets really musty in here. It's this little funny room we have in our second floor that in the blueprints of our house which we found and that's really neat.
Uh, I think it was called the sewing room. I like that. Yeah. This was the sewing room.
So that means that this is a room where things were created. Where things were put together. Yeah. Just like raw impressions and music and actually this was Izzy's baby room for a while too.
She wasn't made in this room but. No. She was grown here like a baby. You know where she was made?
In the bedroom. You know what you said. Yeah. Well it could have been the living room.
It could have been the kitchen. Stop. What happens when you're shirt. Sure it's off.
It's June. Holy cow. I'm going to bring this in here. It's humid.
Are you going to mow the lawn with your top off too. You do topless mowing. Lou has to mow the lawn today, today. I should have been mowing the lawn right now.
Or I should be. I should be mowing the lawn right now. Absolutely. But uh, I got carried away.
Setting up for this mini music Monday. I'm like what's more important. Having, you know, a sightly, playing to the man. cutting our grass, conforming, wasting, wasting, Precious Dule.
Capitalism, the patriarchy. Spilling poison into the atmosphere. Or working on mini music Monday. Are you on edibles?
Yes. Uh-huh. You're going to mow the lawn on edibles? Is that wise?
Of course it's wise. Edibles do not make me like sloppy and incoherent. They give me edge. They give me the edible edge.
Yeah, they do. I look into these eyes. I know it's because I keep looking down at your tiny nipples. Do I have tiny nipples too?
I think they're smaller, like about the size of a nickel. I got a flat ass and tiny nipples. Well, lucky you. Or lucky me.
Lucky you. So you're going to mow the lawn after we perform this public service announcement? I've got to go pick a pandrick song. Commencing.
On five notes. Here we go. This is what I've been working on tonight. I've been a long, long way from here.
Put on a poncho. Play to mosquitoes. And drink to allow us thirsty again. Searching for storage on the lawn.
I've found your honor, those rifle, narrow and shampoo, and many good men's corset and pen. Well, okay. I'm in the door. I promised you I'd never give up if it makes you happy.
It can't be that bad if it makes you happy. What the hell are you so sad? You get down real low down. You listen to cold train.
Deep rail your own train. Who hasn't been there before? I run the hard way. I'll bring you comics and beds with a mole from the brand.
And serve you French toast again. Well, okay. I still get stoned. I'm not the kind of girl you take, hope.
If it makes you happy. It can't be that bad if it makes you happy. Everything's going to be fine, fine, fine. Cause I got one in my pocket and the other one getting a high-five.
I've been drunk about I'm so bad. Young man to pay. Time out I'm working, yeah. I care about I'm restless.
Here but I'm gone. Wrong and I'm sorry, babe. And what it all comes down to. Everything is going to be alright.
Cause I got one in my pocket and the other one getting a cigarette. Free about I focus, green but I'm wise. Hard about I'm friendly, babe. Sad about I'm laughing, I'm brave but I'm chicken shit.
Sick about I'm pretty, babe. And what it all boils down to. I know it's got it thickened, I'm just in. But I got one in my pocket and the other one playing a piano.
Yeah we've been far, far away from here. But on a honcho, made the mosquitoes and everywhere in between. But okay, we get our love. So what if right now everything is wrong?
If it makes you happy. I can't be that bad. If it makes you happy. Everything is going to be fine, fine, fine.
Cause I got one in my pocket and the other one getting a piece of. Cheryl Crow, Atlanta's mashup. Yep. I tell came home or we were home.
I tell was actually sorting in these. Indie? I love a baby indie. That's new Barlow's child indie.
I mean how can I resist? Back up, start over. Barlow. No, no you're just your words.
I should I start. Keep your half naked self down on that chair and keep talking. Okay, you said I heard this great song today. And I was like where were you?
And you're like I don't know. You thought you heard it a couple days ago. I'm like did you hear it in Whole Foods today? No, no.
I didn't hear it in Whole Foods today. I heard it sometime this week and then we started actually going through every place that you had been within the last three or four days. And then you said oh no, it was in Whole Foods today. And I said what song was it?
And what did you say then? You said if it makes you happy? Is that what you remembered about it? I think that's what I remembered.
It was the chorus. You're a little slow right now. I am. I'm like amped.
Okay, so let me explain. I am wicked pre-menstrual. I look like I'm about six, maybe seven months pregnant. I'm like the float is so profound.
It's almost like I have twins in there. It's just like watermelons. So yeah, I'm bloated. I'm tired.
I'm really tired. 46 year old Perry menopausal lady who's now waiting for my period and lose a half naked 56 year old man on edibles. We're at odds today. He's sweating.
He's really edgy. I'm also sweating. He's edgy and I feel like taking a nap. Oh my God.
I totally forgot. We're saying oh, when did I remember about that song? I was like is that Cheryl? Oh yeah.
I was like, oh, Cheryl Crow. This song and it sounded so good. And I remember now I was looking at the veggie straws at Whole Foods and deciding whether or not I needed to get those for Izzy. I'm like does she need veggie straws?
Yes. And as I was deciding, yes, that song came on. What is it called? Is it actually if it makes you happy?
It makes you happy. Yeah. Okay. So if it makes you happy.
Grammy award winning single of the year 1995. For sure. No. For sure.
Ten years after Tina Turner. It's. And what's love got to do it? So I heard it at the grocery store and it just struck me that day.
I was like, wow, what a powerful song. That chorus just kills me. And she just sings it with this just like, just this beautiful power. I am choked up.
Okay. So we listened to it. I really liked it. I pulled it up.
I told you. I said, you got to cover this. I'm like, oh, this song. I love this song.
Yeah. And then as I was singing it to myself, I'm like, I just kept hearing something else. I'm like, oh, I hear this other song. That's right.
You're biting into it. Kind of the way out. There's a Taylor Swift song that sounds like Brian Adams and they go into like they always lead into each other in my brain. So I was like, oh, if it makes you happy.
And then I was like, there's something else there. And I'm like, if it makes you happy. And I'm like, it is there something else. And I was like, do you know what I'm talking about?
And I'm like, no, and if it makes you happy, everything's going to be fine, fine, fine. I'm like, what song is that? And I got one hand. And I'm like, what song is it?
And then I said, it's Atlantis. And I'm like, whoa, those are the same songs. And then I played. I think it's the same.
And then I went to Spotify and we listened to a hand in my pocket. And I was like, oh my God. And then I went online and I looked at the chords. And they're like the same chords.
Yeah. It's the way you blended the two. It was so cool. I was like, why am I crying?
And I wasn't sobbing, but just listening right now, I really thought it was emotional. I liked it. Well, that's a two pretty good song. So there are two good moments in the 90s.
Yeah. Two strong ladies. Not indie rock, but it was big. That stuff was like all over the place.
Yeah. Well, there's a whole bunch of music out there that's not indie rock. Okay. FYI.
Do you think? Well, you're the one who was like, it's not indie rock. I'm like, oh, shit, Sherlock. I named my child, indie.
I named my child, indie. How's indie? The 90s were really good for me. I'm known as somewhat of an indie rock, sort of an elderly.
Elderly lo-fi indie rock legend. Elderly indie rock. Oh my gosh. You can come see him.
What was long today? An indie rock elder. That's me. The owners of indie.
Welcome to the Ellen's movie. I wonder what Alanis and Cheryl would think of that cover. I don't know, but remember I told you. Cheryl Croc.
Tell me your cute little Cheryl Crow story. What did that happen? What was that there before? It ends.
I was in a studio. Working in a studio. Where were you? Yeah, give the back story.
I think it's like Sunset Sound Factory. Okay, recording. In Hollywood. Anyway, we were mixing the sebido record.
Okay. And I went out to the vending machine and Cheryl Crow was at the vending machine. Dang. And she said, Hey, Lou.
I was like, what the fuck? Cheryl Crow knows who I am. And I didn't follow it up with anything like, Hey, Cheryl, how are you doing? What are you doing here?
What are you doing across the hallway? What masterpiece are you working on right now? Well, what year was that? Could it have been?
98. So it was after this? This glo. I would say 1998.
Okay. I'm not just going to say it. I think it was 1998. We were mixing the sebido.
Okay. Yeah. She was just what was she wearing? Oh, come on.
I don't know. She looked cool. She like in little record jeans and just like, I don't know. I don't remember those kind of details.
But you remember she said, Hi, Lou. She said, Hi, Lou. That's so sweet. Yeah.
I love that. Cheryl Crow. Yeah. I don't know her personally, but I did know Peter Stroud personally who played with Cheryl Crow.
I don't know if he still does, but he was, I believe, guitar player in her band for many years. And he has an amp company called 65 Amps. I believe that's what they're called. Geez, I could be witching a whole bunch of stuff right now.
But Peter, well, maybe for another day. Hey, what about the Peter Stroud story? Yeah. I have to find that picture of me and Peter Stroud.
That note. Me and Monday concludes. Bye bye. Thank you for listening.
