Minimal-Prep vs Full-Coverage Veneers: Why It's Forever?

Most patients never find out how much of their natural tooth was removed until it is already gone. Here is the decision nobody explains. Part two of our three-part series on dental veneers in Turkey. We break down the spectrum from minimal-preparation veneers to full-coverage crowns, when each is genuinely correct, and the four questions to ask in your consultation.Veneer treatment sits on a spectrum of how much natural tooth structure is removed. At the conservative end, a very thin layer is reduced and a thin shell is bonded to the front surface. At the other end, the tooth is reduced on all sides and a crown covers the entire thing. There are legitimate clinical reasons for full coverage: a tooth that is already heavily damaged, heavily filled or root treated may not have enough healthy structure to bond a thin shell to. Full coverage is also more predictable to execute and faster to make uniform across a whole arch — which is why the useful thing for a patient to do is simply ask which reason is driving the recommendation in their own case.
