Mining & the Global Hashrate Debate with Ryan Condron

from The Charlie Shrem Show · host UntoldStories

My guest today is Ryan Condron, CEO and Co-Founder of Titan. Titan is a leading developer of software and services for advancing Bitcoin mining at scale. Built by miners for miners, Titan makes mining easy, profitable, and scalable through advanced mining management software and North America’s first enterprise-grade mining pool. Titan was formed and founded in September 2018 by Ryan Condron, Jeff Garzik and Matthew Roszak. Most mining management software options are either incomplete or difficult to scale. The Titan software makes management and optimization easy for cryptocurrency mines of any size. Titan's Next Generation Mining Pool offers a powerful North American alternative and a way for the continent’s Bitcoin miners to achieve the efficiency and scale enjoyed by miners in other regions. Ryan is an OG, he was introduced to the crypto space in late 2012 and quickly got plugged into the mining community. Some of his early contributions include helping to launch the profitability calculator site Coinwarz.com in early 2013. He went on to launch several other high profile projects in the space throughout 2013 and 2014 including a hardware comparison site, a cloud mining service, and a customize-able profit switching platform with 80 different alt-coin mining pools. In 2017 he joined the company Bloq as a principal engineer and in late 2018 co-founded a new mining software startup inside Bloq Labs called Titan Industries. He has been a software engineer for over 15 years and was a CTO at multiple software startups, and ran his own software company for over 5 years. In our discussion we cover the evolution of the mining space, Titan, Coinwarz and the early days of Bitcoin mining, and much more. We do a deep dive into how the mining space has evolved and Ryan's personal experience being an early minner. We also discuss how Satoshi would view the current state of the mining industry. Ryan explains Titan and how they are democratizing mining/hashpower. ParaSwap:If you want to make a swap at the best price across the DeFi market, check out https://untoldstories.link/paraswap.
