Songs and Stories Aaron Mac Giolla Eoin For generations, Ireland has had a culture and reputation for a good "sing song", be it the sorrow of a funeral, the the joy of a wedding, the roller-coaster build up and fall of a GAA match day, a pub lock in and everything in between. While we may hear the same songs belted or butchered, we probably don't know the meaning of many of them.In the podcast, I try to get an understanding of some of these songs, not only the the heavy hitters but some perhaps lesser known and personal favourites from folk ballads to rebel songs.
