Minister under pressure to provide 50 metre swimming pool in North West

The Minister for Sport is facing increasing pressure to provide funding for a 50 metre pool in the North West.Sligo Olympian Mona McSharry and her team have had to train in a 25 metre facility, despite her opponents in other parts of the country having access to such a pool.There's currently three such pools in Dublin and one in Limerick with none in this region.There's an ongoing campaign one to be situation here, and speaking in the Seanad, Senator Nessa Cosgrove says it's high time that the project be given the green light:
