Quarterback Kirk Cousins left town to head to Atlanta where he’ll quarterback for the Falcons. The Vikings responded by bringing in veteran quarterback Sam Darnold and then drafting rookie JJ McCarthy at the number 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft. McCarthy is the national championship-winning quarterback from the University of Michigan Wolverines.Aaron Jones comes over from the rival Green Bay Packers to be in the mix at running back. The Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson got paid with a 140-million-dollar, four-year contract extension with $110 million guaranteed. JJ McCarthy is no doubt happy about that, as are the fans of Minnesota.The Vikings went 7-8 last year even after losing Kirk Cousins to a season-ending injury in their Week 8 game against the Packers. Kevin O’Connell has proven to be a competent coach, and having Brian Flores on the staff has been a huge boost to the team.
