Minority Donor Awareness Month

from Black Health Matters! · host Darryl Armistead

Today’s show is right on time because August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month.  We are shining a light on the need for more organ donors within the black community as there are more than 8,000 people who die each year because the organs that they need are not donated in time. On average, African Americans in need of a transplant wait longer than candidates who are white.  Today's guest is Dr. Clive O. Callender, a transplant surgeon.
