Misereris Omnium (Wisdom of Solomon 11: 24-25,27)

from The Stockton Anglican · host St. Francis Anglican Church

Sermon for Ash Wednesday, Year B (February 14th, 2024) from Fr. Luke Childs. Manuscript available HERE 'The WAY that God calls us all back to him to repent and be healed and saved from sin and death is through Jesus Christ. Through believing and trusting in his atonement on the Cross…so that God can look at our sins and OVERLOOK them, as they are covered in his own Blood. God stepped in where we could not help or save ourselves. God brings us back FROM death in sin to new life lived with him, where every time we sin there is no longer a death sentence hanging over us, but through putting our trust in Jesus we can hear and receive that promise of forgiveness time and time again as we RE pent and RE pent and RE pent. That’s the Good News of the Christian Faith (The Gospel of Jesus Christ). That this broken world is not all there is to it. That we’re not just stuck in ‘making the best of it’ until we die. That God offers us a way out - a way through - a way to healing and restoration to live again forever into the life we were created to live, growing in God’s own perfect love through Jesus, loving God and one other and more and more into eternity.'
