MISERY (1990) Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch | James Caan | Kathy Bates | Rob Reiner

Michael & Alli react to Misery (1990), a psychological thriller that follows a successful novelist who becomes trapped in the isolated home of his “number one fan” after a near-fatal car accident. What initially seems like an act of kindness slowly turns into a terrifying battle for survival as obsession, control, and instability begin to surface. This reaction stands out for its slow-building tension, claustrophobic atmosphere, and iconic performances, as Michael & Alli experience the film’s suspense, emotional pressure, and shocking moments in real time. Directed by Rob Reiner (Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, A Few Good Men, This Is Spinal Tap), and based on the novel by Stephen King (The Shining, It, Carrie, Doctor Sleep, Pet Sematary), the film stars James Caan (The Godfather, Elf, Thief, Rollerball, Brian’s Song), Kathy Bates (Titanic, American Horror Story, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Waterboy, Dolores Claiborne), Richard Farnsworth (The Straight Story, Anne of Green Gables, The Grey Fox, Tom Horn, Comes a Horseman), and Frances Sternhagen (ER, Outland, Cheers, Sex and the City, The Mist), bringing together talent tied to classic thrillers, horror favorites, and iconic performances that continue to drive strong reaction and suspense-focused audience appeal. ___________________________________________________ We've got merch!
