Misguided Empathy Is Destroying Families, Culture, and Church

Dan Ellsworth and Jeff Bennion discuss the difference between Misguided Empathy/Malevolent Compassion and Charity. Is empathy/compassion a positive virtue, or does it depend on how it is used? Charity focuses on Eternal purposes, while Empathy can be used for a short-term "win." It is often weaponized by activists. Data must be correct. We then pass it through narratives (Information), which must be tested before becoming "Knowledge." We often hold data in a narrative, many of which are like viruses.
